Friendly atmosphere and excellent food, maybe need to book a table at the weekends to guarantee a seat but the food and service is certainly well worth it. A good variety of beers and Ales and nice themed rooms, Boat Room, Tram Room etc very well decorated and authentic. Staff extremely helpful and nothing to much to ask for. Be aware that on a Sunday the bar closes at 1800 hrs but the roast dinners are delicious. One thing we picked up on was every time we came back to park the car on site which by the way way is quite large, there was never any room for us to park as the pub is very popular, so we had to park along the road opposite which was disappointing, as we were staying at the hotel I felt that we should be guaranteed a spot?? Another was there wasn’t any comfy chairs in the room to relax in which was a bit of a shame.
But in all we had a very nice stay even booked an extra night, very scenic alongside the canal with plenty of outdoor space, would we go again? Yes I think we probably will but please sort out the parking
