Elme Hall review

Posted 22-Dec-2015
Pros: See above
Cons: Nothing
Location: This was purely an overnight stop to break up our journey home and didn't look around the local area.
My wife and I arrived at around tea time and were greeted well by the staff on reception. We were staying at the Elme Hall Hotel to break up our journey back from Kent. Having stayed at the Lighthouse Inn near Folkestone which was pretty awful, this hotel was back to the standards that most would expect. The accommodation was clean and spacious. Breakfast in the morning was to a good standard and staff again were very friendly, polite and helpful. We will be using this hotel again in the future after this good experience.

Have stayed here on a number of occasions now and will be staying again. Rooms clean and comfortable if not palatial. Value for money.

Great value - a taste of class at a budget price

Posted 07-Dec-2015
Pros: Great breakfast, great value all round stay
Cons: Room was a little too hot making it a little difficult to sleep
Location: well placed from a day in Cambridge then a further shopping day in Kings Lynn
Booked this as part of a weekend christmas shopping. Easy check in, spectacular outside, nice, clean, comfortable inside. Room was in 'The Lodge' which is a seperate set of buildings to the main hotel - little odd to have to walk outside to get to ( no adjoining connection ) but they have catered for the budget traveller which is fine. Room itself was fine - bit like a travelodge room really - clean, roomy, comfortable - great mattress - REALLY comfortable and fantastic shower - would be a crying shame not to make use of it ! Staff were friendly and attentive, we arrived around 18:45 intending to go out to eat somewhere but to be honest, we were christmas-crackered and were asked if we'd like to book a table in the small restaurant - we did so and took advantage of the excellent value set 3 course dinner @ 13.50 - not 5 star but very nice, esp. the freshly cooked fish & chips - the batter was light and my wife and I both said we preferred it to a standard batter. Had a bottle of decent quality Merlot too from the pleasant little bar at I think around 15 quid. Breakfast too was excellent - cold ham, swiss cheese slices, warm bread rolls, cereals, greek yoghurts, prunes, pears & peaches in syrup, grapefruit, croisants, jams, marmite, a variety of fresh fruit juice, apples, bananas, tangerines, cooked breakfast included eggs ( poached, scrambled, fried ), bacon ( nicely cooked ), decent quality sausages, beans, tomatoes, mushrooms ( they were superb ), toast, We'll be back !

Pros: Good room, lovely breakfast and friendly people.
Friendly and convenient hotel for my visit to see old friends and to receive my overseas shipment into my storage facility, whilst on a short trip to UK from abroad.

Excellent overnight stay

Posted 29-Oct-2015 on Hotels
Arrived at midnight, rang number and was let through locked gates and directed to my room which was all ready for me. Room spotlessly clean, bed comfortable with lovely linen. Enjoyed a very tasty breakfast in the morning - could help yourself to the usual cooked breakfast, cereal, toast, fresh and tinned fruit, yoghurt, fruit juice etc. Tea or coffee served by a very pleasant, helpful and attentive waitress. I had a problem with the temperature of my shower - too hot, reported this and was told it would be dealt with. Overall a very enjoyable overnight stay, would definitely use again and am happy to recommend.
