Beautiful Hill Country home called 'The Great Escape at Wimberley' is directly on the crystal-clear Blanco River in highly desirable Wimberley, Texas. You will be in a private 3300 square foot home on three lush acres with almost 300 feet of direct river frontage. This home has 6 bedrooms and 5 baths. There is a separate Game room with an 8' pool table, shuffleboard, and 3 large windows overlooking the river. River Suite/Game Room - 1 queen bed, twin bed, full size washer and dryer, and a private bath with a tile shower and granite countertops. The River Suite is always included when renting the main house. The rock bottom river runs continuous through the year and is almost always at a very leisurely flow, great for kids. The covered back porch provides a beautiful view of the river and the surrounding hills. Easy to watch the activity in the river directly from the porch. Sit in the back yard and BBQ your dinner for the night. Enjoy a glass of ice tea, or a glass of wine, as you watch the deer and the river move through the back yard. Sit in the hot tub and watch the deer and the river. Enjoy the outdoor firepit. Go into Wimberley for the great shopping, fine and casual dining, or enjoy the many festivals that go on throughout the year. Take in a live performance at one of Wimberley's live theater groups. We are only 25 minutes from New Braunfels, an hour from San Antonio, less than 25 minutes from Austin and Lake Travis. Within one hour you have tubing, Schlitterbahn, San Antonio river-walk, Lake Travis, Canyon Lake, caves, and all of the wonders that the Texas Hill Country has to offer. Outside we have a large covered porch overlooking the river, over 2500 sq ft of rock sidewalks and patios. There is also a large outdoor fire pit. A large covered Country gazebo with an 8ft pic nic table perfect for outdoor dining. Beautiful pool with lounge area, free standing hot tub for 8 people. A large lounging area around the pool with table and chairs for 6\. The pool is fully fenced in with a new walkway to the back of the house facing the Blanco River. The pool has two areas one for wading and swimming for the whole family to enjoy. Plenty of privacy! The house is completely furnished and comes complete with all linens, towels, cooking utensils, BBQ pit, etc. to make your stay as comfortable as possible. We have smart TVs, and Hi-Speed Internet. The home is spacious, clean, and beautiful. It was close to downtown Wimberley and about a 20 minute drive to Canyon Lake. The pool was nice and it was great to be able to walk down to the Blanco River behind the property. We were there mid-July and there wasn't a lot of water running through the river but it was fun for the kids to see the little fish, etc. There was also a few families of deer that crossed through the back. The bathrooms appeared to all have been semi-recently remodeled and were super nice. Everyone agreed that we would love to stay here again! ##### Courtney D. Perfect for kids to play in, and adults to lay in. Nice beach area to set up a tent and chairs and spend the whole day there. And the deer and foxes and birds are just mesmerizing. 6 out of 5 stars. Although the weather did not allow for water activity, the pool looked like it would have been fun. Unfortunately, the hot tub would not heat over 90 degrees (but we didn't notify management to address). The gameroom with pool table, shuffleboard, and PacMan was great for the young ones. I imagine TV is not the main draw for this property, but on this football Saturday, the TV and main living room space felt a bit tight for the number of people (8 adults, a teen, and four under 8). The beds were softer than we prefer - and may need updating. That said, the property had a great porch; and the land around the home was great for walking. The Blanco river in the front was easily accessible - although only a small stream at this visit, it made for a peaceful vibe. Overall, would recommend. ##### Mark Q. We are close to hitting the 10 year mark. We've been various locations with lovely homes. However, this one hit the spot! We will probably go back some time next year. The house was very roomy, ample bathrooms, kitchen was well stocked but could have used some salt shakers and additional pot holders. But if that's the only thing I think we're doing pretty good. I can't say enough about the outdoor area. We were in the rocking chairs on the back porch all day every day. We waited until the last minute to check out because we were still in the rocking chairs. Wimberly is such a neat little town. We needed more time. The only thing that could have made things better is more water in the river behind the property. But that is up to God. I highly recommend. The pool, river, game room, and the long porch with the rocking chairs were so appreciated. There was Plenty of seating for meals for the 14 of us. Beds were great. We got to see several deer, ground squirrel, skunk, fox, and raccoon. The kids loved the minnows in the river and our oldest grandson walked to deeper water and caught and released several fish.
