You get what you pay for
We came late lobby was locked but a human came to a check-in windows and we conducted business through a glass partition, the kind you'd use at a liquor store in a bad neighborhood.
When we got to our room, it *reeked* of smoke though there were signs everywhere proudly complaining that the property was smoke free. Being road weary, I didn't have the energy to change at that point, it so I just breathed through my mouth most of the time I was in the room.
The next day, the office was open and the agent was very accommodating in letting me change our room. The first room I inspected also stunk of smoke, but less badly. I took the third room which did not smell of smoke, but had an extremely strong smell of cologne.
I read the fine print at check-in and saw that we'd be automatically charged a tiny sum for the room safe (that had "limited liability"). Luckily, since the reservation went through Expedia, that charge appeared and then was credited off on the bill.
If the rooms did not smell, I'd call this a great value. Nothing fancy but fine for 2 nights.
