In February 2020, I booked a single room - standard ensuite with shower – garden view – breakfast included. On the 11.08.2020, I emailed to check that all was well with my booking, only to be advised "we're not doing B&B this summer..." I had not received any prior notification of this. I felt very disappointed as the breakfasts and complimentary treats are what guests rave about the most. I was told I'd been upgraded to self-catering accommodation. On the 15.08.2020, I arrived at "The Bungalow." The accommodation was not clean or luxurious and had an odour of wet dogs. There was visible grime and cobwebs all over the place. There was dirty crockery in the cupboards and crumbs in the freezer. The kitchen bin was broken and the dirty flip-top lid had to be manually lifted. The outdoor area was abysmal. All the seat pads were soaking wet and grubby. The 'view' was of a run down manège / horse riding area, industrial bins, gas containers, vehicles and caravans. I developed itchy skin - I hadn't been pre-warned that dogs had stayed in the accommodation. Members of my family, residing nearby, came to look at the place and all agreed that it was below par. Having worked throughout the lockdown, I'd been looking forward to a restful break - rather than cooking and cleaning. The only postives were some fresh eggs, nice hand soap and a comfortable bed. However, I'd have expected the same from my original booking. I was misled about the "upgrade."
