The location is great. Metro station is nearby, taxis are available. Since the hotel is very popular with tour operators the breakfast is a mess. Tip: the Metro Line 2 is the one who connect you to Red Square. September is a raining time. The hotel supply the guest with umbrella. The Cafe Pushkin is nearby. The restaurants near Bolshoi Theatre are very good. Don't miss Gorky Park
The Pushkin Hotel is near restaurants and within walking distance of Red Square. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the cleanliness is good. The breakfast may be unusual for non-Eastern Europeans, but we had cereal, bread or toast, ham, cheese, fruit, and good coffee and tea, so there was always something we were used to.The hotel restaurant also serves a good selection. The salmon with spinach is nice! As is the Russian wine. Some taxi drivers have a problem finding the hotel, but the traffic is usually mad so they have an excuse. All in all, a good experience.
"Buy it on sale promotions, never do the full price"
Let me tell you right the way, it's a very nice hotel! Prime location, magnificent restaurant, modernized, despite "historical" building, interior. But... it's pricy! So, as a frequent traveler to Russia, I learned a long time ago to wait when the price will go down. As a rule, a day before your arrival it usually will. In other words, for $90 - $120 (if you will catch this price) it's the nicest hotel to stay in Moscow. Anything higher... Well, I'd rather stay in nearby Marriott.
