Nice hotel next to beach, and Ayurvedic treatment

Posted 30-Dec-2015
Pros: Great service. Nice greenery all around. Backwater rides were good.
Cons: Food quality. Beach ride, time to be extended to allow guests to enjoy sunset.
Location: Very nice location. Ayurvedic treatments available onsite. We had nice Ayurvedic massages - very relaxing. Trivandrum city has the historic temple.
Good hotel. Enjoyed the heritage room. Quiet and nice. I wish instead of connecting two double beds, they had one king bed. Bath room area, sand would get on stone, I suggest a better design. Restaurant service is good. However, the food quality could be a lot better. Dosa and Idli did not taste true south indian. Free boats to the beach. However they end by 5:30pm and and sunset would be around 6pm :(. I think this has to change.

OK stay

Posted 18-May-2013 on Hotels
Whilst all the amenities including the food were good and the staff were very courteous and helpful, we had not appreciated how isolated the hotel was. The online advert we used to book through said there were 2 double beds in the room so could accommodate 4 persons. My emails to the hotel before arriving to confirm those facts were ignored. When we arrived we found the room had only 2 single beds.

great fun for family!

Posted 23-Apr-2013
Pros: Ambience, Beach, Pool, Backwater cruise, Courteous staff
Cons: There were some stray dogs seen in the campus. Care should be taken to keep them out.
Location: Fantastic location for loads of fun with the family. Having the beach and backwater in the same place is great!
Had a great time with my family. Very well maintained and beautiful resort. Reasonably priced room rentals considering the ambience and quality of the resort. Extremely courteous staff. Food was fairly priced and overall quality and taste was good. The backwater cruise (1000 bucks for an hour's ride) was awesome and must do. Spent most of the time by the pool and the beach. Both I and my son have got a severe tan playing in the sun but never felt the discomfort as it was so much fun. The waves are pretty strong in the beach so no need to be careful if you are not a good swimmer. Overall, fantastic experience and a place i would definitely plan to go back again.

Nice isolated resort with excellent staff

Posted 15-Jan-2016 on Hotels
The resort is quite a large area and consists of the old and the new part. We stayed in the new part, which is located in a small artificial island. The room was very clean and housekeeping was first class and friendly. In Poovar there is "nothing," and one should really consider to select all meals and pay for them in advance. It is much more economical and practical. The food was first class and certainly clean. If you do not like Indian food, so should not go India. Around half of the clients were Indians. The service was friendly and personal. The pool area has already seen its best days, but it is very large. Everything is taken care of very well, but a very Indian way. One should not look behind the corner. One more time. The staff was very friendly and I have difficulties to understand some reviews. Why people write such rubbish and in so rude way. That seem to be Indian way to say something. Better not to read those reviws. The closest town worth visiting is Kovalam and it takes almost an hour. Paying is always a terrific show. If you want do some shopping and leave the resort, then you need to go to Kovalam. Some people have the habit of always find something negative to say. Well, at least I do not. It is good to know, however, that the heritage room may be a better option than a suite. Large Indian families occupy them.
