The Neighborhood: Las Catalinas is a unique development north of Potrero built in the style of an Old World Mediterranean village, with fountains and car-free streets made of paving stones. It’s right in front of the beautiful Playa Danta, at the northern end of a road that connects to Potrero, Flamingo and Brasilito to the south. In addition to its many high-end homes, Las Catalinas has two luxury hotels, Casa Chameleon and Santarena Hotel, both with great restaurants. Las Catalinas has a gourmet grocery store, clothing shops, adventure outfitters and various eateries. Just be advised that prices here are a bit high. Access to the beach is free and open to the public, and there’s lots of shade.
