Most disappointing.

Information of contact incorrect. Most amenities listed did not exist. Breakfast stale and inedible. Two hosts tried hard to please. Many long black hairs and soggy unusable shower mat in the room. Only one towel provided.

Pros: Friendly, clean and close to amenities
Cons: Don't wake people up for breakfast, improve the facilities
Location: The place is beautiful the whole town, i would highly recommend it for beaches, shopping, hiking
Very very basic, situated very close to centre which is good and the people were friendly and nice, I stayed in the attic room which was great as you were so high up, the room is very basic, but clean, they had only one non feather pillow which i was using until I found they had taken that and 2 matresses so on my last night I was ill for the alergic reaction, the chap who worked there woke me up each day for breakfast which was extremely annoying as I was up late each night at wedding celebrations and eventually said I would not have breakfast to avoid being woken. They did not have a card machine so I had to find cash to pay for the accommodation. However, on the plus side I arrived late (due to flight delays) and they left the place open for me with the key in the door so I was very grateful for, the place is clean and they are friendly. But it is basic so if you don't expect it to be anything other than that and you are looking for a cheap stay it is good.

Great location, however....

Casa Rupilio is located very centrally in Taormina and is one of the cheaper accomodation offers in the area, but that's where it ends. The staff are pleasant enough if everything goes their way, but two of the other guest during our stay suffered their wrath. The lock on their room got jammed (as this is an old, not exactly well-maintained property, this didn't come as a surprise). The staff worked hard to get the door open and appeared amused by at the time. After they did get the door open they asked for their passports for some documentation, which was at least 6 hours after they checked in. Upon departure the next day they refused to give them back their passports before they had paid for the broken lock. The owner and family members threw some very colourful curse words around directed at our fellow guests. One of the sons even charged out of the house to attack said guests, but was physically restrained by another one of the sons. Breakfast was a sad affair consisting of what appeared to be instant coffee (which they claim is a cappuccino) and some pastries which have seen better days... The shared bathroom was not exactly pleasant either. My partner discovered floating excrement in the toilet upon one of his visits and the shower floor mat.... I don't even want to think about all the niceties hiding within that! We also got woken up before 7 by screaming children running up and down the stairs outside our room.

The "hotel" offers what it promises: bed, toilet, shower and nice view for little money. Hosts were friendly but very-very poor in English.

Pros: Nothing
Cons: Everything
Do not stay here, room was not as advertised, the view was of a car, the towels were threadbare, the shower overflowed, the owner was no where to be found and did not answer the phone, there was no parking except 300 meters away downhill which meant we could not bring our luggage in, breakfast was potato chips, tiny plums, and biscuit, tiny packet juice. We paid E60 or AU$86 definitely not worth it.This property should not be advertised to travellers.

Worst experience ever

Posted 18-Aug-2015
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Everything
We were at the ground floor without any windows, separate in two rooms each having a bathroom. Concerning our bathroom, it was impossible to take a shower because the water didn't go away and just accumulate, making a swimming pool in the room and in the corridor. We tried to explain the problem to the personnel (who of course don't speak a word of english) and the only answer we had was: "no problema". So nothing was done about the bathroom. Moreover if you want to sleep a little late during the morning it's impossible for the personnel come from 9 am and know at your door yelling "collazione, cafe cappuccino?". And if you don't answer, the guy even enters your room to see if you're sleeping. And come back 15 minutes later again, until you answer. And the AC holds with tapes just ahead the bed.

Mi meraviglio di voi che proponete questa schifezza. Vi potete riscattare solo se mandate la ASL e i NAS. I porci vivono in ambiente più sano.
