The house was perfect for a quick weekend getaway. The house had everything we needed and was clean and welcoming. We enjoyed having campfires at night and playing corn hole.

Found home to be exactly as described - cozy and very clean! Kitchen was well stocked and there were plenty of games to enjoy. Stayed here while visiting Jim Thorpe. Enjoyed playing horseshoes. Really enjoyed relaxing in the pergola Lovely property! Host was quick to respond to any questions we had. Would definitely return!

This little home is situated in the woods behind the property owner's home. The home is well stocked and clean. The host was VERY responsive and very easy to work with. We did not use the outdoor amenities during our stay, which simply because we didn't have. Great home, great host, great rental experience!

Blue Sky Mountain Cozy Home

Very nice, a comfortable little home away from people. But close to anything we needed.Easy to access for all the things we wanted to do in the area.It was an excellent choice for our trip.

Finally

We've take yearly trips to Tamaqua to visit family and always need to stay out of town. We finally now have a place to stay that is in town, clean, cozy, safe, and family friendly. Highly recommend staying here! Host was very responsive anytime we had any questions.

A cozy home away from home

Our stay was serene and quiet. A beautiful property and views of wildlife. All of the amenities we needed with enough space to lounge out. We would definitely stay here again.

Nice convenient stay

Spacious property with great outdoor amenities. Close enough to Jim Thorpe to get the day time activities in and close to amenities in Tamaqua.

This place was just what the doctor ordered. The property was very well kept and quiet. The house was one of the cleanest we've ever stayed in. All the amenities we needed were there minus the one thing i was looking for was a blender. Our family went there to celebrate the end of the jersey shore summer as we live there and work there. It was a much needed sit back, relax, unwind, and spend time with the family trip. The lawn games were so much fun and the pergola and fire pit was a huge bonus. We did not venture much into the town for anything but we went to a nearby coal mine no. 9 tour which i highly recommend. We also spent a day in a nearby town of Jim Thorpe which was also a vacation in its own. I can tell the property owners take great pride in their home. If we had any questions, there was immediate communication. We will definitely keep this place on our list to come back to.

Weekend getaway at Tamaqua

The property was clean and cozy. Set back away from the main road it provided much appreciated privacy and quiet. My girlfriend and I enjoyed the fire pit each evening for cooking and enjoying meals outside by the fire. I highly recommend this place.

Peaceful getaway

We enjoyed a quiet vacation in this lovely home. Host was fantastic always quick to respond and very welcoming. Lots to do in the yard and a short drive to many attractions. Highly recommend!

Get away mini vacation

House was very homey and comfortable. Well stocked with essentials. Very clean, beds were great. I recommend this for any budget friendly mini vacation. About 20 minute drive to Jim Thorp.

I came to have a relaxed and quiet time and that's what I have. The property was clean and super neat. Communication with Leona was super easy. Also, you have other great places only about 20 minutes away (Jim Thorpe, Hawk Mountain Sanctuary, Appalachian Trail). I,definitely, would stay again at this place!

Excellent Property

Nice wooded retreat in South Tamaqua!

Place is just as described, clean, tastefully decorated. We saw deer in the fields! Place was away from the town and in a wooded scenic area. We would stay here again. Issues were quickly resolved with quick communication from owners!

Met our expectations

Our stay was for two nights and was primarily a place to sleep at night for a weekend wedding. Our sons family camped about a half hour away and we spent most of the time with them aside from the wedding. We found the house clean and a good place to stay.

Great Stay with Easy Access to Jim Thorpe

We had a wonderful weekend getaway at Leona's home while visiting Jim Thorpe with friends! The location was perfect—just off a main road for easy access to nearby towns, yet nestled in a peaceful, wooded setting with stunning views of the night sky.The home was clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully stocked for hosting a group. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook for a gathering of five or more, including a variety of sheet pans, pots, bowls, a knife block, and even an immersion blender.Although the windy weather kept us from building a traditional fire, we appreciated having the gas fire pit, which made it easy to roast s’mores and enjoy the evening outdoors.Thank you for a fantastic stay!

The place was okay

The home and grounds have great potential veing a "work in progress". Do not fault the owners for rain but there's no access to the highlighted gazebo and lawn area unless you want to cross a water filled stream. There was a wooden bridge aling the stream but unfortunately it was marked off limits by white flags which were used to limit access to certain areas of the property. The beds were not very comfortable so I slept on a couch and my daughter slept on an extremely firm mattress in the main bedroom. The cleanliness of the home was a big plus.

A Wonderful Weekend

My two girls and I had a most wonderful stay at the cozy home. We loved being nestled in the woods away from the main road. We saw deer and groundhogs, and made smores by the fire. The house was spacious and comfy, providing ample entertainment for my kids (lots of movies!) and myself (peaceful back deck). Leona was extremely helpful and responsive at all times, outfitting her house with lots of little things to help us have a wonderful time. I highly recommend this property, and would come back in a heartbeat.

Wonderful Rustic Yet Not Rustic Stay

The low number of ratings worried me at first. Once we arrived, those fears were put to rest. Although the property is set back a ways from the road, some road noise from heavy trucks could be heard sporadically. Unless you live in a sound-proof home, it won't bother you at all. The house felt very spacious and was tastefully decorated. Having two bathrooms was a plus. The living room TV came with a Roku. We were able to keep watching the Olympics due to Peacock being provided, as was Netflix. We drank coffee on the back deck and took in the woodsy hills. Lots of birds & one solitary deer were seen. On Night 2, a bunny was spotted through the kitchen window. It lazily munched the grass while I made dinner. On Day 3, there was a very large bird (hawk?) on the ground outside the dining room window! We never saw the bunny again- coincidence? The pagoda was very nice. Our plans to build a fire were thwarted by the weather. A family could make use of the large, long grassy area for kickball, football, frisbee, etc. The cozy front deck went unused but we did turn on the string lights for ambience. We did some hiking. Kids will enjoy The Lost River Cave & Crystal Caves. One favorite for all ages is the No. 9 Coal Mine. Soaked Winery is intimate with good wine & food. See Boulder Field if you can. We stopped by on the way home and wished we had planned more time at Hickory Run State Park. Most activities were within a 1 hour drive. We would gladly rent this again.
