Cheap but authentic port experience

Posted 22-Feb-2017
Pros: Responsiveness of maintenance and management to issues.
Cons: More attention to obvious property condition concerns (loose electrical, etc.)
Location: Great authentic Asian cuisine nearby.
The manager and maintenance man were wonderful. They are dealing with an aged property with obvious issues (noisy plumbing; noisy guests, vibrating floors, loose electrical outlets, etc.). If you are looking for an inexpensive, authentic port culture experience then stay at least one night and enjoy the port sounds, including the numerous train whistles.

Beds were horrible

Posted 20-Feb-2017
Beds were horrible. Sleeping in the car would have been better. Room was not clean. Poor repair. Breakfast was crowded and no selection. They ran out of food and had to wait a long time to replenish. This was the absolute worst hotel experience ever.

We are not fussy people but this is by far the worst hotel ever. We even had to go to the front desk to ask for toilet paper!

Poor service & noisy room

Posted 21-Nov-2016
We checked in on November 14th. We had pre-paid for our room online, but the girl at the front desk asked us to pay again. We pointed out that we had already paid for our room. She did not apologize. She asked for my driver's license, which she never returned. The same girl checked us out the following morning and did not return my card to me at that time. I didn't notice that it was missing until we arrived home, as my husband drove for the duration of our trip. When I arrived home, I phoned the front desk of the Rodeway Inn. A different girl answered the phone and told me that my driver's license was at the front desk. I am currently waiting for the staff to mail it back to me. This situation has caused a lot of stress and frustration, as I need my driver's license on a daily basis. The bed in our room was fair, however, it was very noisy during the night, partially due to traffic. Overall, we were very disappointed with our stay and will not return.

Do not stay here. We observed a woman shooting up in her vehicle, there were people obviously dealing, escorts, and other characters all over the property, people were up being loud and partying outside all night, the room next to us had people knocking on their door until the sun came up, and the icing on the cake was the hotel double charged me and then only issued a partial refund at first. It took almost a week to get my full refund. Hands down the worst hotel/motel experience I can recall ever having.
