Last minute booking, close to skiing.

Posted 08-Feb-2017
Pros: Location
Cons: Weekend availability of breakfast items, snow/ice removal, general upkeep.
Location: Shops at Silverthorne, hiking, skiing, Dillon, Frisco
I stay in Silverthorne a lot for its proximity to the skis resorts but the first time at the Days Inn. This hotel is walking distance to the shops in Silverthorne including Starbucks, Wich Wich and Chipotle. The continental breakfast is good on the weekdays, but get there early on the weekends. By 8:30 the oatmeal and hard boiled eggs were gone and not restocked. The room had a leaky toilet for the duration of the stay which continued to fill throughout the night. The hotel owns a shovel, but only use it at the front entrance. If you use the back entrance, there is no concern for customer safety on the ice, or even the back entrance step.

Place to sleep, close to skiing.

Posted 07-Feb-2017
Pros: Proximity to highway and dining/shopping facilities.
Location: Ski, winter sports, shopping, dining.
Needed a place to crash for a couple of nights in the Dillon/Frisco area for a weekend ski trip. Conveniently located to I-70 and dining shopping areas.

Nice.. butttt

Posted 06-Feb-2017
If you're choosing it for the pool and jacuzzi, it's going to let you down. It was more like a warm tub with dimmed lighting and old tile work. Otherwise for the price it is what it is. Staff was nice though and breakfast ended at 9 am which is a bit too early.

Greeted pleasantly. Hotel a little run down. The shower in our room had mold. Read there was a kiddie pool. They weren't kidding the pool was just bigger than a hot tub and only 2 1/2 feet deep. The water was worm, the area was nice.

Nice cheap hotel

Nice cheap place to stay that's not far from Breckinridge. It could use some updating but for the price it was good.

Only if you must!

Posted 30-Jan-2017
Pros: friendliness
Cons: cleanliness, cleanliness, cleanliness
First, the hotel in skiing season was inappropriately expensive, I would say approx. 3x the value. The evaluation therefore also considers the price paid. If you get it for 70-80 USD (double queen) the hotel might still be of good value for a night in case you are not too picky when it comes to cleanliness. Pros (therefore still 2 stars): - friendlyness and helpfullness of staff - quality of breakfast (regular fare, but slightly above average) - our room was quiet (to the back of the hotel), but beware of the front side as it directly faces the I-70 Cons: - general condition: hotel is run-down and urgently needs a thorough renovation - room (2 queen) was quite spacy, but old and ugly. Carpet was icky, the window curtain broke at first gentle handling, the aircon/heater was small and noisy with the thermostat not working (= indefinite heating). - cleanliness was alarming: linen may have been washed (?), however, had stains and wrinkles as if someone had slept in there before; food remainders (an old burrito and an open can of beer) were still left inside the fridge - amenities were almost non existent (though we got some more by the room maid and the reception) If you have the choice then there are much better alternatives in the area.

Nice stay

We had a great experience here. The doors/rooms have thin walls, so bring ear plugs! But we finally called to complain about our neighbors loudness and the staff took care of it immediately! Thank you!
