Family party in Stone
Very tired hotel, needing some investment. Booking made by two other couples from my family were messed up ( not through Hotels.com) as they said the cards had been declined and they had no rooms left.....all incorrect ! Breakfast good.

Never Again
Took 15 min to check in because i had to go find the staff to do so. Room and shower was covered in damp and mould- didn't use. Went to have a cup of tea in the morning and bother cups were dirty and had tea in the bottom from previous occupiers. No shampoo, shower gel or hair dryers which is fine but would have been nice to be told. Wanted to demand a refund upon check out but wasn't asked about our room or stay just keys took and then carried on about her business. Was so angry it wasn't worth ruining my day. We are not some kind of a jobs either we'recommend a young couple used to camping and roughing it outside but this was nasty. Should have kept to the tent lol

Central location, pity the town is rather dead
Seen much better days I think- pretty scruffy - evening food not really available - breakfast was scrappy . Hotel almost empty so i guess the trade is not there to spend money on an update. Felt very quiet& not really sure what it was - staff tried to be helpful & welcoming but the overall feeling of decay was overwhelming . A lovely building which could be so much more than it now is - perhaps Wetherspoons could be persuaded to take on the front of house, up grade the bedrooms in the annexe & give it a new lease of life. well worth saving for the town - as a historic building - but needs an imagination to make it function well as a hotel .
