I booked this hotel as I’m a huge Bill Bensley fan. I was disappointed as it didn’t have the usual design twists Bensley twists is famous for. (The neighbouring Shinta Mani hotel did: you can literally cross the road and use its spas, bars and restaurants.)The hotel is quite dated and run down - unlike other Bensley properties I’ve stayed in. Its not as nice as pictures depict. If it’s a 4*, it’s ok the low end of the scale. The bed gave me back ache and I had to lie on pillows to soften the bed. Though not luxury, the hotel is pleasant. The staff are very friendly and eager to assist. Their limited English can make communication very challenging. The food is very cheap. The hotel is centrally located, three mins walk near a new shopping mall with Domino’s , Starbucks and Dairy Queen. The hotel offers tours on its website. What’s not clear is that a driver just takes you the temples, drops you off and waits for you, so it’s not really a “tour” . At the temples there are guides who wait to be employed, offering escorted tours.
