Booking needs to make it clear that your room is not in the main hotel building but in separate chalets at a distance from the main facility. The chalets are more akin to cheap holiday cottages than luxury park hotel amenities. Of particular criticism was the shower and beds which were more ymca than lux hotel and very tired at that. Food very good and main hotel building excellent. ##### Andrew Stayed 3 nights in Jun 2023 ### 4/10 Poor #### Verified traveller 7 Aug 2023 #### Mixed thoughts about this hotel The restaurant in the evening was very good and tried very hard with my son's special diet. Unfortunately though in the morning we were mis informed about food (although the staff was kind enough to come and admit this). The hotel tried to charge me twice for the stay. The website shows pictures of a swimming pool, we discovery this was only available for 1 room and not the whole hotel which I thought was very mis leading. ##### Verified traveller Stayed 1 night in Aug 2023 ### 2/10 Terrible #### PAUL 25 Sept 2022 #### Not recommended. Do not go when a wedding is on. Music till 1am. Room not ready . Carpets stained. Disorganised. Worst stay in any hotel for years. ##### PAUL Stayed 1 night in Sep 2022 ### 6/10 Okay #### Sabine 15 Oct 2022 Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service Disliked: Property conditions & facilities Beautiful grounds, but our cottage was tucked at the back with a view of a static caravan out one of the windows, the car park from another window, and a wall ... it certainly didn't have a "garden view". Kitchen was equipped minimally, and there were NO extras like S&P, tea or coffee, or even dish soap! Floors are plastic laminate in the rooms, cold, no rugs. Very clean, just felt a bit skimpy. ##### Sabine Stayed 1 night in Oct 2022 ### 6/10 Okay #### Claire 3 Apr 2024 Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service Disliked: Room comfort #### Noisy hotel I was here on a quiet week night, but it was noisy when trying to sleep. Rooms open out onto main hall, a few loud talkers echo into a disturbance. I could also hear the people talking in the room next door, also outside due to the single glazing. If you're a light sleeper, this hotel isn't for you. A lovely historic building, generally well maintained. Don't be fooled by the picture of the pool, the pool is attached to a bedroom, not for general use. Room was lovely and spacious and also warm. Pillows were thin and old. I couldn't get water to flow cold from the bathroom tap for a drink. Food in the restaurant was tasty, service was great. ##### Claire Stayed 1 night in Apr 2024 ### 6/10 Okay #### Verified traveller 9 Aug 2024 Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service #### Disappointing Netley Hall is a lovely building with a lot of potential, sadly it felt somewhat like a night at Fawlty Towers. The positives - gorgeous country house with nice grounds and self catering cottages. The food at dinner was good, and staff helpful. The negatives - understaffed, skeleton staff trying to manage the bar, restaurant and reception area all at the same time. Breakfast was terrible. Poor selection of hot and cold food, the hot food was barely tepid. If breakfast isn’t part of your stay, do not pay extra for it. We stayed in a self-catering cottage. The bedrooms and en-suites have no windows, so no natural light. Check out is early, at 10am. I paid extra for a late check out so my family and I could shower after breakfast and not rush. We had no hot water in the cottage. Upon complaint, I was informed that there’s a switch somewhere in the kitchen to turn on hot water. And no-one felt it necessary to tell me this! For almost £200 a night, you’d expect hot water as a minimum. Overall, a disappointing stay. Would not stay here again. ##### Verified traveller Stayed 1 night in Aug 2024 ### 8/10 Good #### Verified traveller 23 Apr 2024 Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, property conditions & facilities, room comfort ##### Verified traveller Stayed 4 nights in Apr 2024 ### 4/10 Poor #### Linda 16 Mar 2024 This could have been brilliant, but was let down by disinterested staff, and a general lack of atmosphere. The food was excellent and the sommelier/waiter engaging and knowledgeable, but he was the only one. Two steep flights of stairs to our room and no offer of help with luggage. I could go on and on! ##### Linda Stayed 1 night in Mar 2024 ### 10/10 Excellent #### John 7 Feb 2024 ##### John Stayed 1 night in Feb 2024 ### 10/10 Excellent #### John 22 Nov 2023 ##### John Stayed 2 nights in Nov 2023 ### 4/10 Poor #### mark 31 Oct 2023 Disliked: Cleanliness, property conditions & facilities, room comfort ##### mark Stayed 1 night in Oct 2023 ### 10/10 Excellent #### Geoff Hadley 2 Aug 2023 ##### Geoff Hadley Stayed 1 night in Jul 2023 ### 10/10 Excellent #### Tracey 18 Jun 2023 ##### Tracey Stayed 1 night in Jun 2023 ### 10/10 Excellent #### Fiona 7 Apr 2023 ##### Fiona Stayed 1 night in Apr 2023 ### 6/10 Okay #### Simon 21 Feb 2023 Disliked: Staff & service, property conditions & facilities #### Sally disappointing Sadly disappointing. Our room was fine but bonkers with its own private 10m pool and jacuzzi. If it hadn’t been for this aspect, our stay would have been ruined by the dining and breakfast. The dining menu was a shadow of that advertised with even items from this reduced offering unavailable. The steak was riven with gristle. The burger however was good. Breakfast was a level below Travelodge inasmuch s as code was from a thermos, food was unappetising (sausages insipid, bacon hard, scrambled eggs very unattractive) really poor. The door through to the kitchen always open…. Showing storage areas. lavatory light wasn’t working and when asked we were informed that they had no replacement bulbs. Place has an air of poorly managed decline. The brightest spot is the yellow lounge which is lovely. ##### Simon Stayed 1 night in Feb 2023 ### 10/10 Excellent #### Reginald 27 Nov 2022 Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, property conditions & facilities, room comfort ##### Reginald Stayed 1 night in Nov 2022 ### 8/10 Good #### Darren 1 Oct 2022 ##### Darren Stayed 1 night in Sep 2022 ### 8/10 Good #### James 16 Feb 2022 Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, property conditions & facilities, room comfort #### Lovely dinner Valentine’s Day dinner was first class and value for money. Rooms nice but Wi-Fi patchy. ##### James Stayed 1 night in Feb 2022 ### 10/10 Excellent #### Gemma 5 Feb 2022 Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, property conditions & facilities, room comfort ##### Gemma Stayed 1 night in Feb 2022 ### 8/10 Good #### Stephen 9 Jan 2022 Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, property conditions & facilities, room comfort #### Olde World charm, great events management We were welcomed very warmly and the staff were friendly and helpful. Particular attention was paid to the formal black tie dinner on NYE and the dietary needs of a couple of our party. Our overall impression was they the hotel is very strong on events (they host a lot of weddings, and we were there over new year) but the day-to-day operation is a little hit and miss. We could not even rustle up a sandwich or anything else to eat on arrival at 2pm, and on our third night the restaurant was closed (a couple of staff apparently were isolating for Covid). Reception was sometimes closed due to staffing issues, with self-check-in arrangements in place! Lovely building, warm and comfortable (high ceilings, large windows, large atrium etc might not cause you to expect it to be so) and the staff that were in evidence were great. The lack of food options was offset by being directed to a place a mile away that had brilliant service and tasty food (the Horseshoes, in Dorrington). ##### Stephen Stayed 3 nights in Dec 2021 ### 8/10 Good #### Adrian 6 Dec 2021 Liked: Cleanliness, property conditions & facilities, room comfort #### Beautiful hotel Beautiful hotel in a fantastic setting. It had easy parking and the room and en-suite was lovely. Not much info given about anything on check in and the breakfast service was pretty poor mainly on the second morning with a different person. If they improved the experience with service levels, it would have been a faultless review. ##### Adrian Stayed 2 nights in Dec 2021 ## Expedia's Latest Trends ### Hotels > [DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel and Spa Chester](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Chester-Hotels-DoubleTree-By-Hilton-Hotel-And-Spa-Chester.h527788.Hotel-Information) > > [Grosvenor Pulford Hotel & Spa](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Chester-Hotels-Grosvenor-Pulford-Hotel-Spa.h790572.Hotel-Information) > > [Pine Lake Resort](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Carnforth-Hotels-Pine-Lake-Resort.h1928661.Hotel-Information) > > [Last Drop Village Hotel and Spa](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Bolton-Hotels-Last-Drop-Village-Hotel-And-Spa.h9341.Hotel-Information) > > [Cave Hotel & Golf Resort](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Faversham-Hotels-Cave-Hotel-Golf-Resort.h33410673.Hotel-Information) > > [Radisson Hotel Manchester City Centre, A Verified Net Zero Hotel](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Manchester-Hotels-Park-Inn-By-Radisson-Manchester-City-Centre.h2601411.Hotel-Information) > > [Ufford Park Woodbridge Hotel, Golf & Spa](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Woodbridge-Hotels-Ufford-Park-Woodbridge-Hotel.h12685.Hotel-Information) > > [Abel's Harp](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Shrewsbury-Hotels-Abels-Harp.h14878323.Hotel-Information) > > [Oulton Hall Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Leeds-Hotels-Oulton-Hall-Hotel.h15948.Hotel-Information) > > [The Park Royal Hotel & Spa](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Warrington-Hotels-The-Park-Royal.h24462.Hotel-Information) > > [Rowton Castle Hotel](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Shrewsbury-Hotels-ROWTON-CASTLE-HOTEL.h30203539.Hotel-Information) > > [Four Seasons Hotel Hampshire](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Hook-Hotels-Four-Seasons-Hotel-Hampshire.h986107.Hotel-Information) > > [Hilton Garden Inn Silverstone](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Towcester-Hotels-Hilton-Garden-Inn-Silverstone.h48251404.Hotel-Information) > > [Hampton by Hilton Bristol Airport](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Bristol-Hotels-Hampton-By-Hilton-Bristol-Airport.h16543862.Hotel-Information) > > [De Vere Tortworth Court](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Bristol-Hotels-De-Vere-Tortworth-Court.h570412.Hotel-Information) > > [Dunston Hall Hotel, Spa and Golf Resort](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Norwich-Hotels-Dunston-Hall.h519081.Hotel-Information) > > [Redworth Hall Hotel](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Newton-Aycliffe-Hotels-Redworth-Hall-Hotel.h517266.Hotel-Information) > > [Royal Whitby](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Whitby-Hotels-The-Royal-Hotel.h57917040.Hotel-Information) > > [Fairmont Windsor Park](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Egham-Hotels-Fairmont-Windsor-Park.h60335617.Hotel-Information) > > [The Windermere Hotel](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Windermere-Hotels-The-Windermere-Hotel.h13431161.Hotel-Information) > > [Harbour Hotel Christchurch](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Christchurch-Hotels-The-Christchurch-Harbour-Hotel-And-Spa.h18097.Hotel-Information) > > [Hawkstone Park Hotel](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Shrewsbury-Hotels-Hawkstone-Park-Hotel.h2172862.Hotel-Information) > > [De Vere Wokefield Estate](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Reading-Hotels-De-Vere-Wokefield-Estate.h1044123.Hotel-Information) > > [ORIDA Maidstone Hotel](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Maidstone-Hotels-ORIDA-Maidstone-Hotel.h74419166.Hotel-Information) > > [Lakes Hotel and Spa](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Windermere-Hotels-Lakes-Hotel-And-Spa.h901040.Hotel-Information) > > [5* Detached Stone Cottage with a Private Indoor Pool (Not Shared)](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Ashbourne-Hotels-5-Detached-Stone-Cottage-With-A-Private-Indoor-Pool.h31752210.Hotel-Information) > > [DoubleTree by Hilton Cheltenham-Cotswolds](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Cheltenham-Hotels-Doubletree-By-Hilton-Cheltenham.h65899.Hotel-Information) > > [ibis budget Manchester Airport](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Manchester-Hotels-Ibis-Budget-Manchester-Airport.h75715089.Hotel-Information) > > [De Vere Cotswold Water Park](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Cirencester-Hotels-De-Vere-Cotswold-Water-Park.h1770053.Hotel-Information) > > [Cambridge Belfry Hotel & Spa](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Cambridge-Hotels-Cambridge-Belfry.h1103020.Hotel-Information)
