The AC in our room made the whole room stink of really old furniture, the kind that’s almost rotten, but not damp. The breakfast was a bunch of small items that won’t fill you up. When we got there there was temporary sign saying it was Sendai Business station front hotel. It was raining hard and we got soaked walking that block away. Also we had to carry our luggage down some stairs to the lobby. Our 6th floor room had a permeating smell of burning oil seeping in one of our rooms near a staircase door. In the evening we called to see if we could change rooms but initially was told they were totally booked. Luckily my friend a Japanese national staying with us explained the situation and he came up with a couple other room keys that they can move into.
