We were supposed to be able to check in at 2 pm but staff never turned up till 4 pm. The room was not very pleasant to say the least. We were checking out at 7.30 am and there was no sign of anyone which was surprising as breakfast was supposed to be included.

Hell hotel

Posted 10-Apr-2018
Black mould spots throughout the bathroom. All the grouting on the tiles were thick black with mould. Mould spots on the walls and skirting boards which also went into the bedroom. The paint on the walls had just been slapped on with no care whatsoever. The curtain was hanging on by just a few hooks. A mirror that had broken on the back door had just been left with sharp shards of glass remaining! The shower cubicle door was broken so you couldn't shut it. The mattresses dipped massively in the middle with springs protruding so much so you could feel them in your ribs. I had to turn the mattress over in the hope it would be a bit better on the other side! In the morning at breakfast there was mould on the bread being served.

Convenient location

Posted 27-Mar-2018
The state of room decoration was poor in that the paint on the walls was badly applied, did not reach the ceiling and was on the ceiling, woodwork paint was chipped and and not applied properly. Shower sealant and ceiling very moldy. That said the cleanliness of the room was OK apart from a few cobwebs and the bed very clean and comfortable. I had the fish and chips which was very good and the morning breakfast was fine. The service was good & staff were friendly. A lick of paint and a good clean would have improved the rating significantly.

Nicely situated hotel allowed to run down

Posted 07-Mar-2018
Pros: Breakfast and location.
Cons: The bedrooms require complete refurbishment.
Location: Central Aviemore close to all amenities and great for the ski slopes.
Hotel facilities adequate but room poor. Cold snap but unreliable heating, no hot water apart from electric shower. Curtain rail hanging off, most drawers and cupboards broken, bathroom floor sagging as if rotten. Breakfast good but service hit and miss.

Pros: Hany for town and has parking and sports bar
Cons: rooms are really needing a nice brighten up as they are dark red and a bit shabby looking.
Location: location is great, loads to do in Aviemore
Cheap hotel in Aviemore, we know it well and don't mind it but it's very basic and I probably wouldn't recommend to anyone else. But as I said we don't mind it as it's a cheap bed for a night out.

Spirited Hotel

Posted 21-Feb-2018
The staff was friendly and check in/out was efficient. The bar/restaurant attached to the hotel was a very popular place! Breakfast was AMAZING and came included with the purchase of your hotel room. Good for if you wanted a drink, some food, to watch the game, or play some pool. Noise from the bar wasn't an issue in the room. We had no connection to the wifi in our room, so we had to go and sit in the bar/restaurant when we wanted to connect to the wifi - that was a little bit of a nuisance. The bed was SUPER uncomfortable. I had springs sticking into my hip and ribs... terrible sleep. Also , while this wasn't the hotels fault necessarily, we had a man banging on our window and the outside door beside our room at 4 am. He apparently forgot the passcode to get in after hours. It woke us up and freaked us out! Again, did not help with the uncomfortable sleep we were already having. Overall, if you're in the area to be social and you want to get your buzz on before falling asleep (so that you don't feel the springs from the mattress poking you) - I would recommend this hotel. Otherwise, spend a little bit more money and get a good night's sleep!
