House and grounds stunning, the dogs delightful. Bed clean and comfortable but no tv/radio/clock, the tea tray sadly lacking in anything that cried welcome, and bathroom odd - used bar of soap on bath rack - yuk!!
There is nothing online to indicate that this is not a hotel but a B&B of the 50s type which leaves one unprepared for the lack of niceties usually afforded one staying at accommodation in this price bracket. The House Rules notice above the bed emphasise access times - front door locked 10.00am-5.00pm, guests to be in by 10.30pm - no key to gain access allowed - there was no key to my room either.
I have dietary problems so eat very little for breakfast - even so, the food provided was not commensurate with the price bracket.
Altogether a very disappointing experience - I had planned to stay 3 days but left after 2. I have been in the hospitality business for many years and feel that, even if this IS a B&B in a private house, it is still a business that provides an income - therefore, you MUST give value for money - Mill House most definitely doesn't.
