Very central location

Posted 06-Apr-2018
Pros: location
Cons: microwave or small fridge
Location: city hall, union square, shopping, restaurants
The hotel is central. 1 block away from civic station, close to city hall. Only problem there's a lot of homeless around civic station which make you feel uneasy if you want to go out at night.

Love this hotel but you need new or more comfortable chairs in the room

The name says it all.

It’s a good hotel. It’s not great, it’s not terrible. It’s centrally located, relatively quiet (given the neighborhood), and clean. The bed could’ve been more comfortable, and I would’ve liked AC given the moderate heat wave, but all around, it was a good stay at the Good Hotel.

Exactly what you need, not want.

I really have no negative feelings about this place. In favt, we would stay here again! My only gripe is that the double bed was a bit stiff, but we had just vacationed in Mexico and honestly the bed softness was compariable to a 5 star resort their 😅. Aside from that, this hotel has everything you need! There’s no frills, a bed, a safe, a little bathroom. But what we loved most was the location and price. You are really immersed in what I believe san fran really looks like. And so close to all modes of transportation. We even took the bus to the airport. Sure there’s plenty of homeless people, but they won’t bother you. We were also able to walk to really close and extremely delicious restaurants:) Minus one star for comfort, but overall this was a “Good” hotel!

I arrived at this hotel and realized that I had been lied to about several features over the phone by the hotel staff prior to booking. They refused to give me a refund, and would not put a manager on the the phone to Expedia. Expedia was also not helpful in this situation, which was very frustrating as i have been a great long term, high revenue client. Very disappointed in such poor customer care.

Daniel, We at Good Hotel are equally focused on the safety of our guests and team members and our policies reflect that commitment. Based on the conversation you had with multiple Front Office Managers and the Front Desk agents, you were asking us to break our safety policies and allow unregistered guests access to our property and guest spaces. We hope you can understand that your requests were neither reasonable, nor responsible. Our team made the right choice by being clear that safety is more important than your desire to allow unregistered people access to our property. All the best,

Better than good

I’ve stayed here many times and frequently come back when I’m in SF. This isn’t a luxury hotel. But the rooms are clean, comfortable, and have everything you need. You often sacrifice quality for cost, but I think this hotel does a great job of offering quality for an affordable cost, which in SF is rare. The location is actually great because you are two blocks from Bart and Muni. I have never had any issues with this neighborhood late at night. Definitely recommend this hotel.

Terrible motel (not a hotel!) in terrible area

Posted 21-Feb-2018
Pros: close to city center
Cons: everything
I travel a lot. Have experience with hotels and motels. So this hotel is like a bad motel, it's terrible. It's close to city center but neighborhood is awful, lots of beggars in the area, who sleeps on the street, throw up and streets smell really bad. Hotel is outdated with window frames which don't close fully, so you can hear traffic and street noise all night. Furniture is cheap and outdated. Stuff is VERY slow, but nice though. Not recommended!!!

Not a Hotel

Posted 05-Feb-2018
The photos on the site make the Good Hotel appear to be more stylish than it actually is. While the overall stay was adequate the disappointment upon first arriving was palpable. The Good Hotel is more like Motel 6 meets hostel meets IKEA. After fees and taxes I should have booked an Airbnb instead.

Convenient and simple

Closest hotel next to the Bill Gharam Auditorium Which is a huge plus. Nice little deli market right around the corner and subway on the opposite corner as well. A city’s block away from Market Street and just overall nice experience. It is a little difficult to notice and see but that’s fine. Nice little hotel that I will look into for future visits for shows/concerts.
