This hotel needs some major improvements

Posted 18-Jan-2016
Pros: Not much
Cons: See above, hotel needs new carpets, a thorough cleaning and some new (or at least better maintained) bicycles.
Location: Location was good - near Market Street, just a few blocks from the cable cars and the various downtown hotels where business is conducted.
I chose this hotel because the price was right and it was conveniently located. Unfortunately, I found the hotel to be run down and poorly maintained. Both the hallways and rooms had musty stained carpets, and there were lots of dead bugs in the overhead lights. The hotel markets itself as offering free bicycles, however the bicycles are poorly maintained, unsafe and barely rideable. In short, this hotel needs some significant capital investment, and a trip to the bike store for a full-fleet tuneup. That said, the front desk staff were generally courteous and helpful.

Only good, nothing more...

Posted 29-Dec-2015
The hotel per se is good, nothing more and nothing less. The rooms are small and simple and the bathrooms even smaller and simpler. The neighborhood however is not really good. It in Soma and right at the edge to Tenderloin and you see a lot of homeless people in the streets and on the corners. But in the other hand, in just about 15 minutes walking distance is Union Square and downtown, with shopping and other things to do. And in about 5 walking minutes in the other direction there is the beautiful City Hall and the Public Library. If you are out and about the hotel is perfectly fine to explore the city for a few days. And by the way, try the restaurant Custom Burger right across the street, it has amazing breakfast and burgers for dinner...

Extremely noisy

Posted 20-Dec-2015
Pros: Shower facilities were O.K.
Cons: There even was no a table and chair in the room
Location: Hotel is located on the intersections of two rooms with high traffic
Expedia should exclude this hotel from the list of hotels it offers with tickets etc.

Be careful with your credit card upon check-in

Posted 01-Dec-2015
Pros: Near un plaza. Good connectivity to city center.
Cons: Hotel is not refunding money that are temporarily reserved upon checkout.
I have stayed for one night in this hotel. I have payed full amount (Room price: $157.56) through Expedia and upon check-in stuff member asked me for a credit card (I have used my master card) to reserve 69$ from my account which should be returned upon checkout. However they are still holding my money. Expedia doesn't care and their support is not helping. Don't leave your credit card information to stuff members of this hotel!!!

Surrounded by homeless, not near any attractions.

Posted 17-Nov-2015
This hotel looked great online, not so much in person. Hallways/stairwells reeked of a urine scent, and the area surrounding the hotel was full of aggressive homeless and crazy types. My wife didn't want to be outside the hotel after dark. We are from NY, so it's not like we aren't accustomed to cities. Would not recommend, spend a few more bucks and stay somewhere near the wharf, or someplace safe and clean.

Boutique coziness with large-chain amenities

Posted 11-Nov-2015
Pros: Nice location. Nice staff.
Location: The location is borderline; 3 blocks North is a business district, but near the hotel you'll find drunks sleeping on the sidewalk. Welcome to San Fran
One of four co-owned hotels adjacent to each other. The Good Hotel is nice, and offers use of the decent gym, outdoor pool and rooftop sun deck at the co-owned hotel across the street. The staff is friendly, the wifi is strong. Note that there is an extra charge for parking, if you use it.

It's ok hotel.

Posted 31-Oct-2015 on Hotels
This hotel is more like hotel and motel combine. Good size room with comfortable bed, bath room is basic. I like the modern design of the room with cool art and lamps. However, it was a quiet room in the morning which I could hear loud footsteps above my room. It's a not bad location in bad area with full of homeless people, some streets around the area were dirty and smelly. The hotel is only 2 block to Market Street where all the public transports are. About 15 mins walk to China town and Union Square,10 walks to Westfiled Shopping Mall. 10 -12 mins walk to City Hall and Asian Art Museum. Hotel staff was helpful and friendly. It's ok hotel if the rate is low and for a night or 2 if you can't find any hotel.
