It is less expensive then downtown...

Posted 22-Jul-2015
Pros: Less expensive and the free bikes to tour the city.
Location: We were mostly there for a business convention.
There is not much that The Good Hotel can do about this, but the area seems to be where all of the homeless go. If you do not mind walking past people sleeping and living on the sidewalks, you can save a little money. The room had no individual heating/cooling control. We had to open the storm windows - which were jammed. With the screens you then hear all of the street noise and loud music at nights from the apartments across the street. The area is a very bad representation of the United States for international travelers.

Close to main shopping area

Posted 08-Jul-2015
Pros: Well situated
Cons: It was a little "tired" and needed maintanence
Location: Close to all shopping areas and public transport
The hotel was well situated for central San Fran, shops and public transport but for a single traveller the amount of vagrants, both on their own and in gangs was very intimidating. Many of them were very threatening and this will unfortunately be my lasting impression of San Francisco

Pet friendly and easy stay

Posted 02-Jul-2015
Pros: We had to find something pet friendly for our animals, this place was nice and pet friendly.
Location: Since we got in so late we were hungry but had no means of transportation yet, there was a subway right near the hotel.
We were moving from Taiwan to Utah and needed a place to stay over night with our dog and cat. There was a $25 pet fee, which wasn't a big deal, but we only stayed for a total of 12 hours, just so we could get some sleep before the next stretch of the journey. We checked in around 10pm, check in was quick and painless. We got settled in the room. The room was clean and nice, nothing super fancy, but decent. It isn't in the nicest of areas, but it wasn't sketchy or uncomfortable. The parking lot was very small so when we had to get our car loaded up and out the next morning that was a tad tricky. They do have overflow parking with a sister hotel across the street. Overall decent stay, nothing fancy, but the price was right.

Neighborhood is not ideal, although central.

Posted 01-Jul-2015
Lots of homeless and panhandlers hanging out nearby. Would not walk around this neighborhood at night alone. Room was clean, and bed comfortable for a quick one night stay.

There was not a refrigerator in the room. This was the worst part of the room. It is a small room relatively to common hotel rooms. Location is good and close to everything you will look for in San Francisco.

Close to public transportation

Posted 01-Jun-2015
Pros: environmental friendly
Cons: Parking is tight and expensive
Toured San Francisco for two days so looked for a hotel that was not so expensive. I only stayed in hotel at night because during the day I was out in the city. The room is good if you are trying to save money and are not staying there for a long time. Public transportation is really close by.

Check in was easy and the staff was excellent and treated me like a star. I was very happy with the too the room was warm inviting and not to over the top. The rooms were clean and I love the new dispenser they have in the rooms for shampo as conditioner. I love the good hotel.

Enough Bang For Your Buck!

Posted 20-May-2015 on Hotels
Super friendly and helpful front desk. Hotel was clean and had all of the amenities that it advertised. Very nice for a hundred and thirty bucks a night. The only issue was the slider window was broke. Really old. Other than that I would recommend if you are on a budget or are a tight person with money. Oh, the restaurant "Custom Burger" was very good. Fantastic breakfast.

Excelente hotel, la atención de primera, te ayudan y orientan en lo que necesiten, las habitación Limpias y cómodas, muy lindas, el único detalle es que el ventilador de techo se apagaba de noche y pasábamos calor.

Good enough/uncomfortable bed

Posted 20-May-2015 on Hotels
the hotel is funky which is fine. I had to remind myself that the rooms were so small and the stairs so weird because the building was super old you can't tell from the inside as everything is redecorated but the floor squeaks and the stairs are small. Everything was fine and clean and good enough until I woke up in the morning and discovered that the bed was super uncomfortable.
