The location was great, set along the River and within walking distance of all the restaurants in the historic downtown area of Salida. The condo was well appointed and very comfortable. Unfortunately, the condo was represented as being on a completely non-smoking property, but when a large group of people were smoking, primarily in the mornings and evenings on a balcony, right next to our rental balcony, it made the availability to our balcony and the option to leave our patio doors and windows open untenable. Therefore, for morning coffee and evenings, we were trapped inside. The most disappointing outcome was when we reported the smoking to our property manager, we were told that they would notify the HOA but property owners were only under the jurisdiction of the HOA. The smoking was never resolved throughout the rest of our stay and the Property Manager insisted it was outside their control. I suggested to them that they advertise the property correctly because we would not have chosen to stay there if we had known that smoking was allowed on the property. The price increase this year is steep. Not sure we’ll return. Couch cushions are worn out and lack proper back support. The sound bar for the TV in the living room has not worked for three (3) years. The kitchen knives and silverware need to be upgraded. We brought our own pillows for the bed this time and very thankful we did because they are much better than what’s on the bed. Otherwise, we obviously enjoy it enough to return over the years and bite the bullet on the price increase this year. ##### Justin V.
