Rutland Water Nature Reserve is very popular with wildlife enthusiasts from across the county and farther afield. It’s divided between the Lyndon Nature Reserve and Visitor Centre, HQ of the Rutland Osprey Project, and Egleton’s Anglian Water Birdwatching Centre, which has the most number of hides. Remember to bring along your binoculars and you’ll have a great educational day out watching many rare and protected species of birds in their natural environment.

If you have your own equipment then by all means bring it along with you, but you can also hire everything you need from local retailers. Cycling is also hugely popular and your Rutland hotel or guesthouse can provide more information.
