We found the hotel to quite, ideally located within walking distance of shops, stores, restaurants, and other attractions. Very good public transportation is nearby. We were lucky to stay in the original building which will be closing at the end of the season for re-construction. It has classical style and grace, with beautiful architectural features. There are many shops and restaurants in the hotel, with good prices. But what makes this a Excellent hotel is the staff, this is service the way it was meant to be.
Our two families stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in August 2015. Having booked through Expedia and as this was a VIP+ hotel as we were upgraded at check-in. Amazing room with huge views from a panoramic windows. Separate bathroom and toilet. Spacious. The bar and restaurant on 33rd floor was wonderful. The staff were excellent and spoke great English. The Concierage knew their stuff and guided us well through our three day stay.
I always stay there.
They are stiff and operate within the rules and are not flexible, but everything works well and the mgmt is consistent.
Breakfast is hot and changes every day.
Easy in and easy out.
The hotel is actually named the 'Tokyo Rei' on the outside, with no reference to 'Shinbashi Atagoyama' on the signs outside. The location is good if you want to go to the towers, temples, etc. I didn't try the restaurant.

Read a few reviews complaining it was dirty but they were not specific in which area.I found that the top of the wardrobe full of dust and the window sill full of dust/dirt and the electrical switch besides the bed full of finger prints+the desk lan line. The electrical cleaning can be done by spraying cleaner to a cloth and with a rubber glove. This can easily be done every time someone checks out.
Problem with wifi dropping out but have many wifi to connect to with same password.
Another problem is reception is on level 1 and staff can not see you from their desk from entrance. Our family had over 6 luggage bags to carry to get to reception.Lift is at level 1.
We got the limosine bus from the airport which stopped at the Grand Hyatt and then a taxi to the hotel due to the many luggage we were carrying.
Free breakfast was for adults but had to pay for my child.
A few reviewers have said it is a adult area not for kids.Yes there are lots of clubs and bars and nightlife but it is not as blatant as say Nana in Bangkok.
To the good points.
We put into our search for an hotel in Tokyo with reviews over 4/5 plus free breakfast and free wifi plus less than £100 per night. From list given by Expedia read the comments/reviews on the each hotel.
1:Free breakfast for adults.Family loved the curry and Japanese rice.It was buffet style.Becareful of the salmon they have bones in them.
2:The room was big enough for 2 adults and a child.
3:Close to subway buy 1 day pass to see Tokyo ! Enjoy

If Tokyo had a Las Vegas, it would be located here. Birthplace of the city’s 1960s disco scene, this area fostered its reputation as the place to party with the more recent inclusion of restaurants, nightclubs, and other forms of entertainment, such as cabarets and hostess clubs. It is also the place to rub shoulders with Western musicians and celebrities.
