Nice room and breakfast.

Pros: Room and breakfast
Cons: Full time reception cover. Nice place but needed a bit of a spruce up
Location: Not much to do in Redon but it is only 10 minutes walk to Southwold which is quaint, nice eating places(which close early!) and a nice seafront
Hotel seemed a bit uncertain about bookings via Expedia.

Nice room, but lack of staff. We were rung and told receptionist popping to shops, so we were given entrance code. He didn't appear at all in 2 days! Good hot breakfast. Situated 20mins from town on foot. V good value.

Joe was most helpful Phoned us to say our room was ready earlier than stated. Nothing was too much trouble. breakfast was first class .Lovely free range eggs and locally sourced produce .Really lovely .

Nice B & B in Southwold with good disabled access

Pros: Very comfortable and clean room. Nice facilities for people with disabilities. Also swimming pool available to use
Cons: individual pots of coffee at breakfast would be good
Location: Easy access to B&B which is situated on main Southwold road, close to town.
We spent 1 night at Newlands where we were made to feel very welcome. We had a very clean comfy room and excellent breakfast. Will definitely use again.

Good hotel, good location. Breakfast excellent. Bonus was the indoor pool. Only downside had to find the main thermostat to turn the bedroom heating on

Pros: Situation
Cons: The idea of customer service - that people going to hotel or B & B want some sort of meeting and greeting
Checking in, if not within the 2-4pm window, is a nightmare. You need a code - to get the code for back door you need to phone a mobile number - but there won't be an answer. So you wait outside for ten minutes and phone again - no response. You eventually go round the back - scary as dark and you are a woman on your own - to find a door ajar. You go in and phone again - hurray - a response. But you also find a sheet of A4 paper with your name on telling you where your room is!! So you do manage to speak to Tom (manager) but Tom doesn't feel it is important in the hospitality industry to come out and greet you and speak to you in person. This is a bed and breakfast in a home - why would you think it appropriate not to greet in person someone coming to your home. Fair enough if at some godawful time - but this was 7.15pm!! Never again will I book in - and I am looking for a good B & B to use on a regular basis. So don't book in if you want any of the personal treatment!!

Hotel you don't want to stay at!!!

No staff even when we arrived till we left 9 am , no breakfast up to when we left at 9am. Dirty room, bed previously used, dirty tissues under pillow. Spa bath not working and hairs round water spouts. Took full cost but promised refund of breakfast cost, still waiting. Would not go back even though position in town nice.

An excellent one night stay.

A one night stay to break a journey from home to our daughter. Very friendly arrival. Promptly shown to our room and shown all the facilities. Even got a good recommendation for a good restaurant in Southwold. Definitely would recommend and would stay here again if in the area.
