Great location, attending wedding

Pros: The location
Cons: It's all a bit tired, but hanging said that all lights should work and associated sink plugs
Location: Plenty nearby, Great Location
Attended this hotel to attend a wedding. Location is great, unfortunately the hotel itself is tired and in need of some TLC. In our room (203) one of the overhead main lights didn't work, and in the bathroom the shaving light didn't work, the sink plug would not lock down, so impossible to fill basin for a shave, and finally the shower was so weak, it was very difficult to shower off lather. 2 of the breakfasts were delivered without the sausages ordered, and these were brought to the table once most of the meal was completed. Didn't bother to complain as I doubt if anything will change in the time warped hotel. On departure noticed the chefs were huddled outside the fire escape having a fag Progressive hotels seek customer feedback to improve, and no one asked us our opinion. Will not be revisiting

1930's charm with wonderful staff.

Pros: The people and the location
Cons: A lift?
Location: Top spot for all water lovers, sailors, fishing (all year round). Great access to Channel ferries to France
Fabulous position right on the Marina. Somewhat old fashioned - including the warm and welcoming greeting from Nicki at the front desk. Staff couldn't be more accommodating, were thoughtful and very careful (I have a severe Garlic allergy). Personal attention and service continued to checkout - minding the luggage; helpful local info; calling taxi etc.

Spacious baby friendly hotel with lovely staff

Pros: Loved the staff, the room size, the food, the view. Liked the parking and decor. *Loved that the cleaning staff didn't complain about the nappies!
Cons: Would have liked a shelf in the shower to put shampoo/ conditioner etc Would have liked window restrictors (if they were there we couldn't find them)
Location: Lovely views and quiet at night. Easy to find and park. Saw shops and eateries a few minutes away but didn't visit them.
Arrived for our two night stay to find plenty of parking available - always a bonus. The woman at reception was welcoming, advised where our room was etc. Our room was surprisingly large as was the bathroom with excellent views over the marina. Amenities included an iron, hair dryer, trouser press, hot air fan, large standing fan, digital alarm clock and a fridge. The fridge was a nice surprise as we had our one year old with us and had bottles to store. Plenty of info left out detailing both hotel and local services. The bathroom had a separate bath and shower with great lighting and mirrors. Our bed was nice and firm, linen was spotless and soft to the touch. Two firm and two soft pillows provided. The chef was very accommodating at dinner and breakfast (baby is diary intolerant and I'm egg yolk intolerant). The bistro staff (especially Lou) were welcoming and attentive. Breakfast offered a great choice from cereal, fruit and pastries to full english, poached eggs and so on. Reception were kind enough to provide washing up liquid for us so we could clean our baby bottles too. This hotel was our base of operations with things planned in Bournemouth and it exceeded expectations, we'd definitely stay again.

The Saltern Harbourside Hotel. Late Dec' 2016.

Pros: The room was comfortable as was the bed. The room was clean and tidy.
Cons: The TV is too small.
Location: No pubs in walking distance. However the Bar was well stocked
The Hotel staff were very accommodating but the Hotel would benefit with a face-lift, some replacement carpets and redecorating for the summer. The management need to be aware of the inaccuracies of their menu. For example, the Cheff was unable to cook Rustic Chips, so he dished up two versions of frozen Chips (skinny & Chunky). The Rump Steak states "Rustic Chips" twice in the same menu. The Full English Breakfast menu states Fordingbridge Eggs, apparently, only one egg ever gets served. It would be "best practice" that the waiting staff have prior knowledge these shortcomings in order that they can manage client expectations.

Hotel from hell

Location: Sandbanks has one of the highest retail land values in the world. This hotel should be condemned. But, the boats are nice to look at.
The room was unclean. The bathroom door did not open fully as it stuck against the floor. This meant to use, one had to squeeze between the door jam and the door. A rusty nail was found on the bathroom floor, after it had been trodden on with a bare foot. The shower could not be used due to the intense smell and existence of mould. Due to us leaving early we were told a continental breakfast would be prepared that we could take away. The poor night porter knew nothing of this in the morning. He did his best. Having paid a lot of money to stay here, including the heavy e- bookers fee, I feel we should have our money returned. I could go on but my time is worth more.

Very Nice Hotel with good Restaraunt

Nice Hotel, much better than the other write ups portray. Lovely room overlooking the harbour, food in restaurant was excellent. Very young staff at breakfast who I though coped very well with the busy service. Not much to do within walking distance so car required. Overall a very pleasant stay.

Our night in Poole Harbour Hotel

Unfortunately our room was right a noisy machine that was running all night. The room overlooke some sort of balcony which had wires all over it!! Thank goodness we were there for only one night and we arrived late. I thought I would sleep but sadly I didn't. I had two flat pads masquerading as pillow and a extremely cheap rubbishy mattress!! On the plus side the bathroom was clean and pleasant although basic with lashings of hot water. The soak helped eliminate all my aches and pains from the bed. Lovely surprise at breakfast that was definitely 5*. Freshly cut and prepared fruit, juices, yoghurts available and a varied breakfast menu which was cooked brilliantly. The first time I have had decent cooked mushrooms for ages!! Chatted to other visitors who has brilliant rooms with views also the dining room had lovely harbour views.
