My teen children and I stayed for 3 nights and had a fabulous time. When I rented the property, I didn't realize that it was a) on the sound rather than the gulf and b) in a big campground with activities for families and RVs and tents. (I know I should have, but I somehow missed these details!). At first I was disappointed, but it turned out to be perfect! The gulf beach was a 5-min drive for us and we were still able to sit on the porch and drink coffee overlooking the water. The staff was friendly and responsive, and the little cabin was very cute.
The beach at the campground is small and man-made, and this cabin sits right on it. That means that there are campground activities held right outside your cabin at times. This wasn't a problem for us but did affect our ability to be on the porch in the evenings because there were outdoor movies being shown. If my children had been younger and wanted to watch the movies being shown, it would have been fabulous to watch from the porch!!
