Convenient Stay

Posted 19-Jun-2017
Pros: Location and connectivity
Cons: Breakfast may include fresh items instead of packaged stuff. The coffee machine etc could be checked for functioning
We stayed in this hotel and found it located close to louvre and well connected other tourist attraction. The staff is friendly and helpful.A number of eating options are available nearby. The breakfast provided by the hotel is good but all are processed items and fresh items may not be provided. The rooms are small and other than those facing the road, they are stuffy especially the lifts are tiny.We had issue in booking through Expedia as they did not convey my change in dates properly and there were two bookings against my name.It was embarrassing sorting out the issue through Expedia.Double check the terms and conditions with the hotel directly when booking through travel websites as there maybe some communication gaps.

Excellent. Wonderful staff, wonderful service, very nice. Very accommodating hotel, very unique to Paris. Breakfast was wonderful as well. Hotel room a bit small, but OK...very charming.

My first choice for a budget Paris Hotel

Posted 29-Apr-2017
Pros: Location - two blocks from a Metro station and the Louvre - four blocks from Notre Dame. Staff - they deserve a 4.5 if I could give it to them.
Cons: Cosmetic - paint and spackle - personally I like the character though.
Location: Name it - close to Metro, Louvre, Notre Dame, Big Bus Tours - you can get anywhere in Paris quickly from this hotel.
I was welcomed and quickly checked in by staff. The hotel is an older renovation that is worn - there is chipped paint and patched walls in places - but my room was clean, beautiful and had a whirlpool bathtub. The WiFi actually worked without hassle - a first after 8 hotels throughout France. Breakfast had a lot of options including boiled eggs and meat (not just pastry, cheese, and yogurt). Staff were very helpful and when I asked for a place to eat, referred me to an excellent local restaurant and gave me a referral card which gave me a sight discount. If I return to Paris - I would be hard pressed to find anywhere that gave me the same value for the price they ask. I would have no problem recommending this hotel to friends and family.

Great location!

The best location. Everything is waking distance and next to the metro station, shops and restaurants. No luxuries but perfect for tourism.

Great location, a little dirty

Great location within a short walk of the Louvre. It appears they do not vacuum the floors in the hotel room.

Loved this intimate, local hotel.

Posted 08-Mar-2017 on Hotels
This is a small hotel with VERY friendly and personalized service. Very comfortable bed & bath. Walking distance of the Louvre and some other sites. Being only a block off Rue de Rivoli, it can be a little noisy at night, when one is trying to sleep. The only problem I had, was that the main light switch in my room did not work. I didn't report it until I checked out, because I wasn't sure how long it would take to repair. (I didn't want workmen in the room while I was out.) Staff all spoke English well, so don't worry over that. They were all very considerate, warning me about potential pickpockets, giving me help with bus and train locations, etc.

High Tax Recovery Charges and Service Fees

Posted 10-Feb-2017 on Hotels
The staff were wonderful. We spent 5 nights in Paris. 3 nights here and 2 at Hotel de Suede Saint Germain. We were charged $59.93 extra per night on Hotels.com for Tax recovery charges and service fees compared to $13.83 per night at Hotel de Suede Saint Germain which is a few miles away. Not sure why the fees are so high.
