Generous room size with very high ceiling. 5 mins drive to Par sand beach and 10mins drive to beautiful Fowey town. Beautiful building but lack of ambience or feeling of hospitality. Service is functional and everything is based on the manual, except a lovely lady serving in the bar. Not forthcoming with important information that causes inconvenience to the guests - they could have informed us of the restaurant closure/no hot food for 10 days due to staff having COVID. Nice pool but still 1hr slot restriction in place and not relaxing as it is like a military operation. limited pool availability for hotel guest even calling up a week in advance. Everything was done right from a hotel staff/ business perspective - a shame as it could have been something more special in the Manor House in beautiful English country side.

Bedroom was lovely and clean, staff were very helpful, but the food side of things could definitely have been better. Restaurant wasnt open so running a very limited menu. Very disappointing. And there were quite a lot of works going on around the hotel which meant we were woken early most days to workmen. And its always the little things. We arrived to find the cleaners in Reception and had to step over the hoover and cleaning materials. One of the staff spilled beer on my son and the table as he was serving but didnt come back and clean it up, we had to. Those little things would definitely improve the hotel. We had a nice stay, but wouldnt return.

Lovely location & property. Slightly marred by external works on the beautiful sun terrace. Slightly disappointed with room (used bar soap left in shower plus a nasty stained upholstered stool at the foot of the bed but this got removed on commenting) Very good Covid one way system & social distancing still in place. Breakfast was fabulous! Very attentive pleasant staff. Great views. £10 taxi into Fowey with some lovely restaurants & 2 stunning beaches a few miles/minutes in the car. A lovely staycation, thank you.

Grand hotel but lacking in certain areas
Nice hotel, lovely spa facilities which were kept very clean but the spa staff. Room at back was spacious and the balcony had a great view of the coast, quite a few stairs involved so if you aren't up for a hike, then lower floors might be better. Downsides were the lack of availability for food if you weren't booked into the quiz, no room service either and the fact that if you didn't want to be part of the New Years gala, there was nothing else available to do within the hotel that wouldn't incur a £15 per person price for simply visiting the bar. Bit disappointing overall.
