The pictures on this site, don’t do it justice. The room was spacious and comfortable. Our stay was wonderful, the people are friendly, and the breakfast was delicious. And it’s right next to the train station, which is a godsend after the five hour train ride.
This is a little gem. Excellent service, spotlessly clean. Fabulous breakfasts, cooked to order and fast service. Everything you could need at a fantastic price .
Staff very welcoming. Ideally placed I loved it.
We were travelling with our 9yo son and the room exceeded expectations as it was very specious and well appointed. A fridge would be handy.
Breakfast was fantastic and again generous with multiple options. Staff were lovely and its location near the station made it and excellent choice. 5 ☆ from us.
I had a good stay at "The Royal"
Points to note:
Room was a nice size with a full sized bathroom.
Bathroom was clean and well stocked with toiletries and toilet roll. Bed was very comfortable and bedding was of a good quality. The gentleman that gave me my room keys was polite, pleasant and helpful.
Reasonably priced considering it was half term and most hotels cost double. Noise was minimal, restaurant looked nice (I didn't eat there as I had eaten earlier in the day)
Breakfast was a standard English (other options were available) waitress was friendly, chatty and well presented.
Other points:
TV was small in bedroom
Hotel welcome pack seemed a little outdated
Barmaid wasn't the happiest of people in the pub side.
Overall a good place to stay if down south and you're looking for a room for the night.
