Excellant hotel, near to historic sights

Posted 22-May-2017
Cons: We found the bed a bit soft. We like a hard bed, but apart from that we had only good things to say.
We were in Oxford for a conference which was two minutes from the hotel. The bus stop was just round the corner for buses into the city centre. Restaurants and shops in walking distance. - Great.

Convenient property to visit Oxford.

Very good breakfasts. Huge filled omelette. Nice garden in back. A lady in the next room complained at night that she could hear the TV thru the wall and we had to turn it off. Shower stall is very small (like on a cruise ship) and the shower head was not working properly. The hand shower would not stay up when attached. I trust the staff knew this, as it was placed on the handle.

Convenient and comfortable

Enjoyed our stay at Parklands - a good location with easy access to the City Centre on foot or by bus. Hotel was comfortable - we had a room on the top floor - and breakfast was particularly good.

so handy for oxford

Pros: location for easy walking and very convenient buses.
Cons: like many converted large victorian houses, quite a lot of stairs if your walking is limited. if so may be better to book modern hotel with lift acess
Location: easy to find on the Banbury rd, lots of free parking. 30 mins walk tocentre or 40 yards to stop for very frequent buses
Dont take your car into the centre of oxford! stay at the Parklands and leave your car there. only 30 minute walk into oxford centre 20 minutes to the colourful Jericho area for restaurants n entertainment. buses in and out of the centre every 10 mins are just 40 yards away from the hotel. so much to see. the Ashmolean collections esp paintings incredible. Recommend booking for the Bodleian Library tour but well worth it. parkland staff friendly, helpful. our superior room very spacious, clean, well equipped.

Breakfast highly recommended

Posted 10-Nov-2016 on Hotels
A comfortable and pleasant house, with very good service. Breakfast was excellent, the cooked service very well presented with good quality ingredients-( much better than some very expensive Oxford hotels I have tried). My only criticism was that my single room was extremely small, with hardly anywhere to put one's clothes, so not really suitable for more than a couple of nights.

Location: Oxford is absolutely beautiful. Easy and inexpensive to hop on a bus to be in city centre in minutes.
Clean and comfortable place to stay. Breakfast was quite nice and hotel staff were friendly and helpful.
