Clean, quaint, economical and on the beach!

Posted 28-Jan-2017
Pros: Quaint, homey, close to the beach.
Cons: No complaints.
Location: Location is on the beach and close to good places to eat, such as The Jolly Roger.
We only stayed one night, but would return here again. The location is excellent, the staff very professional and nice (they upgraded our room). The continental breakfast actually included cheese omelets and turkey sausage, as well as hot waffles. The room was very decent and the bed comfortable. The price was very affordable. Great place to stay!

Nice hotel close to the beach

Posted 16-Jan-2017
Nice hotel to go with family the only Thing I didn't like is that it has thin walls and sometimes you can hear people in other rooms. The breakfast is good. I enjoy my stay.

Nice hotel right on the Beach

Posted 09-Jan-2017
Pros: Cleaniness, the setting of the lobby, its right on the beach.
Cons: Can't think of anything at the moment
Location: Its right on the beach. There's a convenience store and Gas Station just opposite. A 2 minute walk to the left gets you to a nice Restaurant as well.
We checked in for 3 nights during the New Years weekend. Got a great deal as we booked using the Expedia Mystery hotel thing. The lobby has a great cozy setting with a Fireplace and all. Check in was smooth and we got a Room on the 2nd floor with two Beds. Very clean and Tidy. A small kitchen area with a fridge, microwave, etc. Not really an oceanfront room but you could see the ocean from one of the windows. Complimentary breakfast and then they have snacks served from around 3pm to 8pm. We would definitely go back to this place the next time we are in the area.

Disappointed

Posted 23-Dec-2016
Pros: Location, breakfast and cleanliness
Cons: Fireplace and mattresses
Location: The beach is the best and the hotel is near everything .
Hotel was filled up with smoke from fireplace, this was to the point that guest on the second floor used towels to keep smoke out of their rooms. Our bed mattress was so bad that I went out and bought an air mattress. I've stayed here before and the breakfast is the best.

Nice and comfortable.

Posted 20-Dec-2016
It was our first trip to Outer Banks, and we were satisfied. I really enjoyed all the amenities, especially the 24 hour coffee, and bid fireplace in the lobby. Good rate and comfort. All around nice place to stay. Plenty of places to shop. Good location.

Classic hotel

Posted 27-Nov-2016
Great old hotel - feel and location reminds me of yesteryear. Lobby and location was nice. They only had a queen available, which was fine, but the room was just slightly bigger than the bed. TV on top of dresser and very basic/minimal furniture. Window didn't open and there was no door or access to the beach air. Wooden doors with NO sound proofing ability at all, not to mention a quarter inch crack in the door that almost felt like you could see through it. Besides the light coming through the door at night you could hear everything on the other side. With almost no rooms with direct access to the beach view it would have been great if there were a large community deck in the back. There is no place other than the beach itself to sit down in the evening or morning.
