Nice hotel close to the beach.

Posted 22-Apr-2016
Pros: The staff was friendly and very helpful.
Cons: The whole facility could probably use an upgrade. But considering its location in a beach community, it is more than adequate for enjoying the area.
Location: Days Inn is centrally located in the Outer Banks communities. It is close to shopping, restaurants, national parks, sports and beach activities.
The Days Inn offers a reasonably nice facility that backs up to the beach. It is close to most Outer Banks activities, shopping, restaurants, etc. The hotel is an older facility, but it has aged with charm and actually fits right into the beach bungalow motif. We were pleasantly surprised that when the desk person noticed my wife's limited walking ability, she voluntarily upgraded our upstairs king room to a downstairs suite with more convenient access - very thoughtful.

Nous avons été reçu par une demoiselle très agréable. Les lieus sont paisibles et nous avons bien aimé le décors.

Great Hotel at the Beach for a Great Price

Posted 06-Apr-2016
Pros: Location, price, full breakfast, lots to do and see nearby, nice beach right there, friendly staff
Cons: People in room directly above very noisy -- but when we called front desk, it was taken care of right away (not hotel's fault though)
Location: We drove north to Currituck and Duck, went to Jockey's Ridge and Wright Brothers Memorial nearby, and drove south along Hatteras National Seashore
We wanted to spend five days in the Outer Banks without spending a fortune. I found this hotel on Expedia and read many reviews (highest and lowest). I realized that I had stayed at this same hotel, once before about 10 years ago. We were satisfied with it then, and the price seemed great, so I booked it for my Spring Break. It was very easy to find, was in a great location, and was right on the beach. I was disappointed that the oceanfront rooms were already booked, as I would have loved to be able to see the ocean out our window, but we were still only yards from the beach. Our room was clean and comfortable, the staff was friendly and helpful when we asked for suggestions of things to do or restaurants nearby. The room included a hot breakfast every morning that consisted of sausage, eggs, various breads, yogurt, cold and hot cereals, juice, coffee, fresh fruit, and make them yourself waffles! We were very pleased with the breakfast menu.

Close to beach and that's all

Posted 03-Apr-2016
Pro... Breakfast is great and staff were very nice. Con...Hotel is only 2 stories. Have to book the back 4 rooms on the second floor to have an "ocean view". Rooms are dated. Beds are tiny. Water pressure is non-existant. Shower head is low! I'm 5'4" and had to duck down to get under it. There is not nearly enough parking!!! Walls are thin... I was woke up by workers in the room next to us both mornings who were remodeling the room. Won't return

Unexpected Quaintness

Posted 28-Mar-2016
Pros: Location to the beach. Very nice breakfast / snack room. Afternoon/evening snacks were unexpected and delicious.
Cons: A hand rail going UP the interior staircase to the second floor would be appreciated by those with slight handicaps (like me).
Location: Very close to the Wright Brothers monument and museum.
Our trip to Kill Devil Hills was the last on a 12 day journey through the Carolinas and Florida. The exterior of the building left us doubtful of what was inside. To our very surprise, we found the hotel to be quite charming! The old fashioned wood floors and fireplace in the lobby led to warm wood paneling in the hallways. Our room, though old, was updated and the bathroom was modernized and very clean. The sound of the ocean from the balcony was inviting for a stroll on the easy-access beach.

return to the beach

Posted 22-Mar-2016
Pros: The character and cleanliness
Cons: A longer trip
Location: Was too early in the season, some of the great restaurants were closed, but still great trip.
It is an older hotel with rooms being updated, it reminded me of my youth on New England. The beach was just steps from the door, the room clean and comfortable. The free breakfast was outstanding, the staff outstanding the entire was perfect.
