Amazing place to stay!

We absolutely love coming here. It is a beautiful cabin on an awesome property, very peaceful and private. Also, the host is very friendly and helpful, and check-in/check-out was very simple. We definitely hope to rent here again!

Wonderfully remote/secluded

Nice place for a secluded getaway. Loved the hiking trail and beautiful lake. The cabin had everything we needed. Easy check in and checkout process. Will definitely stay again.

Nice and quiet

Excellent get away spot. Spent a couple nights here and fished the nearby lake and river. very comfortable bed and sitting area. Definitely will be going back.

Quiet and peaceful

The cabin was clean and the property is secluded and very peaceful. The fireplace was the only heat source, but it kept the cabin very comfortable.

Secluded Lake Front Cabin in the Woods

The Cabin is very nice and unique. The owner is very professional and we had everything we needed in order to enjoy our vacation. The location is very quiet and surrounded by huge trees with Spanish moss on them. there is a lake in the back that offers incredible sunset views.

Ft. McCoy Cabin

Perfect getaway for a relaxing vacation or weekend. The setting is beautiful, serene and quiet. The Cabin is quaint , comfortable and impeccably clean. The owner, Mr. Bob Davis is a gentleman, kind and generous. I recommend this rental property to anyone.

Quiet weekend

This is exactly what it says a cabin in the woods. It was so nice and quiet. My husband and I sat by the lake each night watching the sunset below the trees. The bed was comfortable. There was wood for the fire pit which was a nice surprise.

PERFECT retreat for my much needed escape!

Wonderful weekend!

I am so glad that I chose Bob’s place for my weekend getaway! I can’t wait to stay again. The property is absolutely gorgeous and the cabin has the most lovely view of the lake from the living room. It had all the kitchen supplies you need to make a nice meal. It was spotless clean and so cozy. The bed was so comfortable. It has a large bathroom. My dog and I loved the trails and sitting by the lake watching all the wildlife. This is the perfect place to escape for a quiet getaway.

This cabin was amazing!

We were looking for a private getaway for a weekend, and this definitely fit the bill. The description and pictures in the posting described it perfectly. It has everything you could need, including a huge stone firepit/grill. My dog had a blast running around and walking the trails with us. And it was so quiet that we were able to finally relax and spend quality time together. The owner was also very accommodating and quickly responded to any inquiries I sent. Great place and would absolutely recommend to anyone!

Secluded, peaceful and stocked

We arrived and was pleasantly surprised that they thought of everything. There was even an emergency packet if you forgot toothpaste and other hygiene products. It is in a secluded area, so go grocery shopping first. We were highly impressed with the cabin. The bed was comfortable just a lot smaller than we are used to. When we can stay longer we will haul our horses up there to ride. We will definitely be staying again.

Rustic and bucolic. An excellent retreat.

Towering live oak canopies and generous wide hiking trails. The property is located on a lake, and I would recommend bringing a John boat or flats boat if you would like to fish. The interior is quaint but with warm character. Definetely enough room for 3 people to sleep comfortably. I recommend visiting in the fall or winter, where the Florida outdoors become even that much more inviting. Also, the wood burning fireplace would be ideal in cool weather.

bring a bottle

It was what we wanted - isolated and quiet. Spent our anniversary away from people this year. There were bottles all around the place signed by guests, but we didn't bring anything so we didn't have a bottle to leave. Next time.

incredible old Florida getaway weekend

Beautiful cracker style cabin set among old growth Florida oak trees. Customer service was quick and concise with excellent instructions and communication before and after our stay. The cabin was clean and nicely appointed. The grounds and the trails leading back through the wooded portion were well maintained. My wife and family including our four legged friends were exceptionally relaxed at this retreat. So much so that we only managed to take the boat over to Rodman Reservoir one time. We will certainly be back and yes I would recommend this little cabin for anyone looking for some old Florida relaxation, peace and tranquility.

Awesome Cabin in Orange Springs!

My wife and I stayed here for the weekend and it was the perfect getaway. I just retired from the Army in September and it was my birthday that weekend, my wife and I were looking to get away from everything, get out in the woods and nature and this cabin was exactly it! Great cabin with everything that you need, it was clean, the property is gorgeous, right on a lake. Our dog spent the entire weekend in the lake and running around the woods there! Detaching from our everyday routine and staying here was perfect! Bob, the owner is as nice of a guy as you could meet. Very responsive, very professional and polite. My wife and I will definitely be back to stay here again at some point! Thank you for the great weekend!!

Was very disappointed there is really no lake only a flag pond no fish

Went there expecting to fish in a 53 acre lake for a week the lake was only a flag pond knee-deep with no fish actually went home three days early

Incredibly peaceful and quiet.

This was a last minute get away for me and my dog. Just needed to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and just chill for a day. I could not have picked a better place for us. Took long quiet walks on the property and did some exploring. Caught a good breakfast at Ivie's diner. There's limited phone service which was perfect for me. There is tv, but for the most part just relaxed and spent time reading and hanging with the dog. Cabin is really cozy and I was surprised that it was not too hot or buggy. Just bring your food if you want to cook special things and clothes, everything else is there. Great place can't wait to go back.

Perfect Getaway!

My girlfriend and I, with our little pup, arrived on saturday morning and fell in love right away. The property is tucked off the road in the privacy of gorgeous old trees that gave us the feeling of complete seclusion. At first glance we fell in love with the log cabin look and as we stepped in it was better than we thought. The decor fit the setting perfectly and we felt right at home. The property itself is so spacious and was great to explore the walking trails with our dog. The surrounding area is remote so we would definitely recommend brining as many groceries as you feel necessary for your stay. If I was to stay again, I would bring a kayak or canoe with us to launch at the Orange Springs Boat ramp about a mile from the cabin. It was a beautifully serene area along the Ocklawaha River.

Simply Amazing

My husband, our two dogs, and I desperately needed a vacation together. This trip was only for one night, and on short notice, but we could not have asked for anything more. For the first time in along time we all had a chance to unwind, relax, and reconnect. We explored the trails with our dogs off leash which was a joy. We went to the local store and got groceries to cook our own dinner and breakfast (we always eat fast food on the go so this was a rare treat). We enjoyed a camp fire, and in all, we had a true & genuine chance to enjoy each other. Thank you, Bob. You've created a one of a kind getaway that we plan to return to next chance we get. Thank you for giving us freedom (with our fur babies!) to enjoy getting back to the basics.

Great and relaxing getaway

Went with my girlfriend and stayed at Bob's cabin for 2 nights. We wanted to get away from civilization for a couple days and this was a great place to do it. The best part is that the cabin has every thing you need, including all major appliances, A/C, a TV with satellite, phone, and running water with a shower. Be advised it's well water so bring fresh drinking water! We drove around the area and were pleasantly surprised that it's super quiet for miles and miles. There's mom and pop mini marts every so often and that's about it. The property is absolutely beautiful and huge, you can walk through trails for quite a while if you like. I can't understand "going camping" when you could just rent this cabin and have the primitive feel of being out in nature but have an enclosed cabin around you with amenities to keep everyone happy. On top of that, our only costs were food which we brought, so in the end this ended up being a very affordable getaway. Thanks for having us, we will return next time we head up to North FL!!!
