Good hotel, like it , but ....

Posted 12-Oct-2017
Pros: Room, facilities, and location
Cons: Parking (always crowded) and vegetarian food options
Location: Bosworth of course, and the National Space Centre are very close
This is a great hotel, I regularly stay here, and can recommend it. But the food options for vegetarians suck as does the room service, who don't pick up the phone. I was given one option a few nights back for veggie food, a cheese sandwich... it's 2017, come on, pick up your game..! Apart from that, great place to stay

Business stay

Posted 04-Oct-2017
Pros: This hotel can be a nice backdrop for leisure breaks.
Cons: Wi-fi Run down decoration
Arrival was slightly confusing with parking in different locations and no easy signage directing to reception. Thursday night and process in reception was friendly with the receptionist clearly on good terms with existing clientele. Key issued and proceeded to the room, first impressions were good for an old building with television and provision for hot drinks. The room was at one end of the building which seemed quiet so I was " looking forward" to getting paperwork done and then an early night. Issues through the stay, firstly a problem of not booking direct because I had specified parking and fast wifi included in the price but the hotel charge £7 a night to use wifi and I felt held to ransom a little because my mobile phone reception was extremely limited so couldn't tether to get work done. Bathed and found that the extraction fan did not work so the room was filled with condensation so had to open windows. At this point I realised that staff(?) parked their motorcycles underneath my window and when leaving late at night would start the engine and leave running, disturbing my rest. Early start and no one on reception to book me out and issue my invoice/receipt, at this point I saw that the entrance notice board was still saying "Tuesday 26th". Phoned that night requesting my invoice, gave my email address and checked 3 nights later not received and phoned again tonight requesting and confirming, maybe second time lucky?

Budget Hotel Disguised As A Soa

Posted 02-Oct-2017
Represents good value for money but this really is a low cost budget hotel dressed up as a Spa. The internal decor and cleanliness was good. However in my hall way there were two buckets of dubious origin which had soiled towels soaking in!!! behind the facade the rooms are poorly furnished with low quality beds, pillows and chairs. Our bed was rock hard, had a wonky leg, was advertised and bought as a double nut was two single beds pushed together, I actually fell through the gap in the middle. And despite making a complaint to reception there was nothing the hotel could do. Rooms are varied and some rooms do not have windows but rather a light box which fakes or gives an impression of real light. Be aware also that all of the hotel telephone lines are premium rate numbers charging both an access fee and a high cost of 15 pence per minute as you listen to the recorded music. I am sure that what they are doing is illegal as premium lines should not be used if you have already booked or paid for goods and services. So be aware holding on to the line waiting for staff to answer is racking up call costs, more if you call from a mobile. Food is typical pub grub but of good quality and served hot and in good proportions. The hotel is very popular because of its price and can be very noisy. During our stay there was a wedding and several coach parties which added to the noise and delay in being served food and drinks. This is not a hotel for a quiet break.

Disappointing for a Spa Hotel

Posted 15-Sep-2017
Pros: The pool area was clean and enjoyable.
Cons: The staff.
Overall - the staff didnt greet and were not attentive to customers. We waited a long time to be served at the bar (no one around to serve) and didnt apologise for the wait. Check in staff were not helpful - had to ask where breakfast was served, times etc. We are vegan - this was not catered for at all. We were treated like an inconvenience and were not offered any alternative. The chef was not flexible and didnt offer any amendments to the menu. Staff in the restaurant didnt greet us or let us know how the carvery worked. The rooms were ok - a little shabby and rough round the edges. A dirty towel was left (as a clean towel) in the bathroom. I expected much more from a Spa Hotel.

In a lovely market town

Posted 11-Sep-2017
Pros: Pool and bar area reasonably ok.
Cons: Updating of corridor carpets, very stained on our floor,1st. Furniture needs to be up graded in bedroom particularly dressing table and bedside fur.
Location: Good location regarding places to visit especially Market Bosworth itself.
One of the draw backs was that at breakfast due to five coach parties staying at the hotel It was rather crowded in the dining room to say the least.

No fineness

This place should be so much better but the staff & maintenance need a lot of work. Shame that I see " Brittannia hotels" & I know standards will be low

Very tired hotel

Posted 30-Aug-2017
Pros: Convenient. Good price. Comfortable beds.
Cons: Upgrade furnishings
Location: Perfect country location. Convenient for twycross zoo
Booked hotel as it was convenient for us travelling from Cornwall to lincolnshire as a stop off and price was reasonable. Room was very large and clean with comfortable beds, but very tired with old furniture. No hotel details in room ie breakfast times, check out times etc. Very noisy on corridor outside room, doors being slammed and loud talking. Pool area needs upgrading, very dangerous metal spiral staircase leading to pool. Breakfast not very relaxing, our table was cleared whilst we were still eating. Tables very close together. Buffet cooked breakfast was very good although a little cold due to cold plates. This hotel could be a very nice place to stay with a bit of TLC

Lovely setting, nice spa facilities.

Posted 24-Aug-2017
Room was a bit tired but clean. TV Channels not working very well. Breakfast area was a bit cramped and very busy and tea/coffee facilities a bit basic - would have been nice for staff to bring you e.g. tea and toast even if rest was buffet style. Nice food though.
