Mylestone – A Relaxing Cottage Retreat in Lion’s Head

Mylestone offers a peaceful, nature-filled cottage escape on the Bruce Peninsula, tucked into the calm setting of Myles Bay just minutes from the village of Lion’s Head. This welcoming retreat combines everything guests look for in a classic cottage getaway: quiet surroundings, warm shallow water, and easy access to the area’s top attractions.

Myles Bay is one of the peninsula’s hidden gems. Sheltered by forest and set along the clear waters of Lake Huron, the bay is known for its sandy, gently sloping shoreline—something rare on the Bruce. The water here is typically warmer and calmer than the open lake, making it ideal for swimming, especially for families with young children. Kayaking, paddleboarding, and floating along the shoreline are all popular ways to enjoy the bay, and even in peak summer, the area maintains a relaxed, low-traffic feel.

At Mylestone, you’ll enjoy the comfort of a cozy, well-equipped cottage surrounded by mature trees that provide privacy and a true sense of escape. The beach is just steps away, making it easy to spend your days by the water and your evenings around the fire. Outdoor space is perfect for barbecues, stargazing, and unwinding after a day of exploring.

The nearby village of Lion’s Head is only a short drive away and offers convenient amenities including a grocery store, LCBO, cafés, and a beloved ice cream shop. It’s also home to the Bruce Trail and the famous Lion’s Head Lookout, where dramatic cliffs and panoramic views overlook Georgian Bay. Day trips to Bruce Peninsula National Park, the Grotto, Tobermory, and Fathom Five National Marine Park are all within easy reach.

Ideal for families, couples, and small groups, Mylestone offers a quiet, comfortable base in one of the Bruce Peninsula’s most inviting bays—perfect for unplugging, reconnecting with nature, and enjoying cottage life at its best.

Online Guest Concierge is provided.

Mylestone – A Lakeside Cottage Retreat in the Heart of the Bruce Peninsula

Tucked away on the peaceful shoreline of Myles Bay and surrounded by mature evergreens, Mylestone is the kind of cottage that offers both seclusion and comfort for your next getaway. This four-bedroom cottage combines rustic charm with modern convenience, making it perfect for families, groups, or couples looking to unplug and unwind in nature.

Lakeside Living, Steps from the Water
The cottage sits just above the rocky shore of Myles Bay, with a clear, shallow entry ideal for swimming and paddling. A circle of Adirondack chairs surrounds a waterfront firepit—a perfect spot to watch the sunset, roast marshmallows, or stargaze under the dark, unpolluted skies. The bay’s calm waters and quiet atmosphere make it ideal for morning coffee on the beach or afternoon kayaking adventures.

Outdoor Space to Breathe and Gather
The expansive elevated deck is a major feature, with bright red Muskoka chairs offering a cozy place to lounge, read, or share a meal outdoors. The wraparound design ensures views of the forest and the lake from multiple angles. Below, there’s additional seating and shaded space, along with a handcrafted red porch swing nestled into the trees—perfect for lazy afternoons.

Open-Concept Cottage Comfort
Inside, the open-concept living and dining area is flooded with natural light from the large windows and patio doors. A vaulted pine ceiling adds warmth and space, complemented by a stone fireplace and cozy furnishings. Whether you’re gathered around for board games, enjoying a family-style dinner, or watching a movie, the great room is designed for connection.

The kitchen is fully equipped with generous counter space and modern appliances, making it easy to cook meals and entertain. A breakfast bar with red stools adds casual seating for morning coffee or evening snacks.

Room for Everyone
Mylestone includes four bedrooms:

A primary suite with vaulted ceilings, a walk-out balcony, and serene forest views.

A bunk room designed with kids and teens in mind—two sturdy sets of bunk beds and playful décor.

Two additional bedrooms (not pictured here) provide flexible sleeping arrangements for couples or solo guests, ensuring everyone has their own space to recharge.

Peaceful and Private, Yet Close to Everything
Though nestled in nature, the cottage is only a short drive from the village of Lion’s Head, where you’ll find groceries, restaurants, hiking access to Lion’s Head Lookout, and more. The property offers a great launching point for day trips to Bruce Peninsula National Park, The Grotto, or Tobermory.

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy
The host was welcoming and quick to answer any questions we had! The cottage was very clean and filled with an entire selection of kitchen ware and supplies to do laundry. There were also dozens of board games, puzzles, books, and movies. We didn’t have any small children with us but noticed there was a closet filled with a high chair and games for kids as well. Compared to other cottages we’ve stayed at in the past, the wifi was fast and the hot water and water pressure had no problems (even with six people showering). Overall the cottage was cozy and very pet friendly as we brought three dogs with us and we would recommend this stay to anyone! Genuine five star review :)
