Welcome to this 2-bedroom, 1-bath, 1-story, 900 sq. ft. upper rear unit of a 2-unit complex. The first unit in this complex (NB-420A) is on the beach/boardwalk. This home has its own sweeping ocean view balcony that is equipped with a table and chairs for al fresco dining and a barbecue for when you need meal making to be easy.
The great room sports a beach chic living room with lots of comfortable seating, a wall-mounted flat screen TV, and slider access to the balcony - so indoor/outdoor living is really easy here.
The kitchen, has a breakfast bar with high-top stools for great ocean views. Right next to it is an inside dining area for 4, so everyone can eat together inside if desired. Note that there is only a convection oven in the kitchen, not a regular oven and there is no dishwasher.
There are 2 bedrooms - one with a queen bed and the 2nd with 2 twin beds, so this home comfortably sleeps 4 in beds. There is one full bath with a walk-in shower. All bed and bathrooms are furnished with a plentiful supply of premiere linens to ensure you are always comfortable.
Additional amenities include 1 car parking space in the garage on the right. The garage is from the 1960's so it is neither tiny nor huge. Additional street parking is also available. There is also WIFI and cable and a washer and dryer in the garage that you may use.
This simple, but very adequate home, or combination of homes, will make a great home base to return to after your day's adventures. And you may very likely create some memories that will last a lifetime.

Property was clean, bright and had an amazing view! The location was great. Not only close to the beach, but an easy walk or bike ride to stores and restaurants.
Great location, steps from the beach with an ocean view balcony. Needs a good deep cleaning. Baseboards, blinds were discussing (boogers on the blinds in kitchen) and carpets need cleaning. But everything else was clean.

Not what I expected
It was like living in a shack, we were either cold or hot. NO heating or air conditioning. the furniture was old, dirty and in disrepair. It was right close to the ocean which was nice. But sleeping was hard, you were either hot or cold, and the neighborhood is loud throughout the whole night. Very old, no dishwasher..
The property is fine. You're upstairs so be prepared to lift bags, it is a shared property so there is a second unit on ground level.The good"You stay here for the view and proximity, not the amenities. Absolutely perfect views of the water; from both inside the kitchen and living room as well as on the upper deck which has a good sized table. Just a truly perfect view Walking distance from several restaurants, easy driving distance to shopping and local attractions like balboa Island and fun zone.Super clean. While parking is a tight space, having it is such a game changer The bad: No air conditioner (could be a problem during a heat wave but we're from Arizona so it being 71was fine for us lol). No oven (slightly inconvenient but clearly not a deal breaker). Tiny closets so be prepared to need to use the dresser. Bring earplugs; with having to keep windows open at night you hear Street noise and the beds being wooden aka squeaky you'll want some ear buffers.

The good: great location just steps from the sand, the unit is a second story unit with good ocean views with a nice but small patio for bbq’ing and watching the waves. Pricing felt like a reasonable value compared to other close-by properties.The just ok: the listing could do a better job of explaining that the overall property is shared, with other short-term rental tenants having the lower level while this unit sits upstairs. So it is certainly is not as private and you hear everything going on downstairs. You also share the very small washer/dryer with that tenant and share a small garage - if they have a big vehicle it is very difficult to get two cars in there. The unit itself is small but cozy. It could use an upgrade in terms of decor and furnishings.The bad - there is no oven and the kitchen is very sparsely stocked if you plan on doing any cooking. No dishwasher and not even anything to help dry the dishes. Very sparse in terms of towels, bedding and any extra amenities to make you feel comfortable. No air conditioning is fine, as there are fans and it is comfortable with the windows open. At the same time the unit is in a very busy area and you will hear people and loud vehicles at all times of the day or night. The internet was spotty.Overall - if you are looking for a place right on the beach that doesn’t break the bank and is at least very clean, this is your spot! It’s really too small for any more than 2-3 people and does not feel very private.

Not the experience I had hoped for
The proximity to the water was amazing. And the sound of the waves was beautiful. However, the inside of the property was not what I expected. It smelled old and dank. The furnishings are very 1980's. The floor was scratched and the windows were dirty. Worst of all were the beds which certainly were not inviting but looked like something from a cheap motel. The bathroom drain left us standing in calf deep water whenever we showered and the unit was not equiped with enough toilet paper. Plenty of dishwasher soap (despite there being no dishwasher). There were no rugs, throw pillows or throw blankets or make the place inviting. I looked like a place for twenty somthings to throw a party.
Update desperately needed, dirty and uncomfortable
Apartment was extremely grimy in my opinion. I didn't even feel like I could sit on the couches as they were filthy to the touch. The floor is severely scratched and turned your socks black, so wearing shoes was required the entire time. The beds were squeaky and uncomfortable. The bathroom was small and uncomfortable and dingy. The patio deck was filthy and the umbrella was broken and the chairs were uncomfortable to sit on longer than 15-20 min outside making the patio balcony unusable. The only part of this rental experience that was tolerable was the location. It was literally right on the beach, but for the price we expected a bit more. Also, before the stay, I emailed the Vacasa property management company 2-3 times and never got a response. I should have gone with my gut feeling and avoided this property from the start.

Great ocean view!
The oceanfront location is awesome. Perfect for riding bikes to all the piers- Newport, Balboa & Huntington. Easy walk to restaurants & grocery store. Steps to the sand. Private upstairs unit with a big balcony. The garage fit an SUV. The unit is older and outdated with very minimal amenities. There are ceiling fans in every room, but during the day the inside temp was 80+ when I stayed during a heat wave. It cooled down nicely at night. Shower was dirty upon arrival, but they were quick to respond via text. Bring your cleaning supplies, hand soap and spices. My 2nd time booking with Vacasa. All went smooth & I like their texting feature. I'd rent this unit again for the amazing view and location.

Amazing apartment
The apartment was really clean and had a lot of towels for the beach and the shower. Easy access to the beach and close to the Newport pier and bars. For a beach front apartment you have a lot of privacy.

Wonderful beach getaway
Literally in the beach in the upper unit to get an amazing view! About 1 mile to the pier and less to wonderful restaurants and beach shops.
If you don’t like sleeping cool at night, bring sweatpants as the house cools off a lot overnight. Perfect getaway
Literally beach front. Perfect little deck to watch the ocean and beach goers. Steps to the sand/ocean. Great little neighborhood. Property was clean and had everything we needed. We enjoyed our stay very much.
Deck chairs are in need of replacing and window latch in bathroom was broken rendering the window unusable which is the only source of ventilation for the bathroom but overall this is a great little place!
We had a wonderful time. My daughters and their families all had houses in the same area, and were able to all gather and have fun.
Only complaints - patio furniture needs repairs. Chair legs so uneven on two of the chairs, everyone who sat in them thought they were going to tip over they teetered so bad. Also, the toilet fill valve needs to be fixed/replaced. We had to take the tank lid off and push the valve to make the toilet fill so it could be flushed.
We spent our 40th anniversary here. The property is nice however not as nice as property we have rented in the past through VRBO. It has no dishwasher and the cleaning staff left dishwasher tablets which we found strange. Also the window doesn’t open in the shower and there is no fan to help with the steam from the shower. We were inconvenienced as the city was resurfacing the street so we had to find a place to park as we couldn’t park in the garage the day we were checking out. I feel like we should have been advised of this up front. There was absolutely no off street parking so we got up at 5:30 so we could get out by 7 am. I realize it’s not the owners fault but it would have been nice if we were told about it ahead of time.
