Great hotel. Bad services.

Posted 28-May-2017
Hotel stuff weren't very inform about hotel policies. One person says one thing and another says the other. Charged us on charges we did not use and when informed they were not being apologetic but instead giving us a lot of attitude. Not saying sorry is one thing but why all that attitude when it it wasn't our fault and we were talking about it nicely. My small purse was missing from the room too. It wasn't anything valuable but it just the whole experience to be loosing something from a hotel room that makes it bad. Everything was great except that one incident.

excellent experience except for the small bathroom

Posted 18-May-2017
Pros: Service and high-end feel of the building
Cons: Bathroom cramped
Location: Perfect location near everything I needed for business and entertainment
The Morgans is in a good location on Madison Ave with a short walk to the main shopping locations and theater district. As I entered the lobby for the first time my impression was that this is a high end boutique hotel, with a very friendly and professional person to check me in. She saw that I looked tired from my trip and immediately gave me a bottle of water and a drink coupon to the very beautiful bar/restaurant that connected to the lobby. This excellent service continued as I sat down in the bar and was immediately served by a very friendly waitress. My first impression of my bedroom was surprising in that you enter a large living room area connected to the large, well designed and spacious bedroom. Everything was better than I expected. The only disappointment was the size of the bathroom. It felt too cramped, particularly the toilet which offered no room to move forcing my arm to hit the sink legs. This is the only drawback the an otherwise outstanding hotel. The elevators were lightning fast and the employees from the front desk, housekeeping to the bar/restaurant wait staff could not have been nicer or more professional. This is a lot of hotel for the money, so I would gladly recommend it, but I would also caution people about the bathroom experience so they are not surprised.

Checkin was difficult and should have staff come out from behind the desk with iPads and check people in - and the floor number plate in the elevator is black with low light in the elevators everyone I saw was using their iPhone flashlights to figure out what buttons to push -- should be rectified

Morgan's Hotel

Posted 21-Feb-2017 on Hotels
Overall the hotel was fine. Staff was attentive and friendly. For the most part, the hotel was nice and quiet. My only two complaints were that the bed was not that comfortable -- very hard mattress -- and the continental breakfast was just meh. Not awful but if you're eating it a few days in a row, it leaves a little to be desired. Coffee was good though.

Understated Midtown Hotel Close to Everything

Posted 30-Jan-2017
Pros: Breakfast, location.
Cons: Elevator panels could use a light.
Location: Great Midtown location accessible to just about everything.
Selected hotel for walking distance to Madison Square Garden (in for BigTen Super Saturday), turns out it's close to just about anything you want to do on Manhattan. Walked to Empire State Building, Times Square, Central Park, easy train ride to financial district for 9/11 Memorial. Excellent true continental breakfast was a major bonus. Next time we go to NY I'll check proximity of focus of trip to this hotel, instead of the other way around.

Tremendous... But don't like the forced breakfast

Posted 17-Jan-2017
Forcing an additional $27.50 per day per room is just dishonest. Either have it as part of room cost or make it optional. One person staying in room and being charged $27.50/day is just not fair.... But great hotel, size and location

Great location and clean rooms

Posted 16-Jan-2017 on Hotels
The hotel was in general very comfortable and had a great location. Walking distance to almost all the hot spots. Breakfast was great, good areas for reading, computer work or just being on the phone. The only thing that was a little award was the size of the bathroom barely enough space to sit on the toilet and the lighting in the elevator and hallways is very poor. With everything painted black I strained to find the elevator correct floor everything we had to ride the elevator.
