We stayed at the Metropol for two days in September. The location, right at the centre of town, near Red Square, the Kremlin and the Metro station was perfect. The Art Deco style in the public areas is beautiful and evocative, although the room was a little dated. The staff were attentive and friendly. The breakfast in such a beautiful room was delightful.

Location, location, location! Elegance and comfort, plus impeccable staff made for a great stay, Top quality breakfast buffet in a lovely dining room overlooking Red Square was a marvellous start to the day. We recommend highly and would return ourselves.

Great location close to bars restaurants coffee shops. 20 minutes to red square. We stayed in larger room. Cleaning service was excellent. Breakfast speedy and good.

Just over the river to Red Square---rooms are spacious, room service and restaurants wonderful, and pool is flawless.

I gave for comfort just 4/5, because the standard room doesnt have A/C and It was too warm at nights so I couldnt sleep well. Otherwise everything was really good for the price.

I arrived at night to this hostel and it wasn't a pleasant experience. It is located in an alley and the hotel itself is on the fourth floor, which you can only reach using the stairs in a very shady environment. The lobby and the area of the hotel is not like in the pictures, but the rooms and the decoration of the hotel is nice. The next day I found out that the location of it wasn't that bad and it's close to the cathedral and the red square, if you don't mind walking about 15 to 20 mins. Everything was clean and the environment was OK, I didn't felt that it was a friendly environment. Not bad, just ok. The hotel is hard to find, even to the taxi drivers. It is located in what used to be a chocolate factory and it's now a part of several buildings that are kind of artsy. There are bars and galleries nearby.

15 minutes nice walk to the red square, rooms large, clean and functional with all amenities you'll expect, nice helpful staff, excellent buffet breakfast topped up every 10 min so it's always full, and there is a gym as well. wonderful stay

Didn't know what I'd be getting into in Moscow, but this was the hotel to be. The best hotel clerk in Moscow is Yuriy! Speaks English, Russian, and Japanese and can help you with whatever information you need. He recommended a great restaurant a half a block away for some authentic Russian cuisine - very good. There's also a few great coffee houses within a block, as well as a happenin' spot for nightlife. I'm not a HUGE fan of walking everywhere, so when I say the Kremlin and the Red Square is within walking distance - it is - as well as the Metro, which has several beautifully decorated stations. The rest of the staff was very helpful and nice as well. The room was VERY clean and comfortable. I'd stay here again and would recommend it to anyone.

Everything about the hotel was excellent but ..... make sure you don't book a room immediately above the restaurant. They hold wedding parties there and you can certainly hear the noise in your room.

A great luxury experience in a spacious suite decorated and equipped in the Russians' idea of opulent luxury. Great fun and a chance to indulge.
