The check in went well, the personnel was nice. Room very clean and spacious. No breakfast included but there is a restaurant "crazy horse" proposing good breakfast for a reasonable price, the staff was very kind. It was perfect for our stay, we were looking for an afordable hotel on our way to South California and we found that bay park hotel was good.

Reasonable hotel right by the highway in Monterey.

Posted 24-Oct-2016
Pros: Reasonable price, easy access to highway, close to Carmel and Monterey attractions.
Cons: The room was clean and the bed was reasonably comfortable, especially at this price range. The bathroom was well appointed. I'm not a huge fan of the new laminate flooring. I suppose it helps with maintenance since it would not stain like carpet but I prefer the feel of carpet in the room.
Location: Monterey Aquarium, beaches, golf, etc.

modern and spacious room

Posted 22-Oct-2016
Pros: Parking, spacious room, free wifi, accessible to food and shopping
Location: Only a couple miles from the fishermans wharf and Cannery. Outdoor shopping mall with plenty of places to eat and shop right across the street.
We were in a single king bed room. Nice Laminate flooring instead of carpet is a plus because of cleanliness. Room was spacious and pretty modern especially for the price. Location is great. It's right off the highway and near shopping and restaurants. Parking is easy and was very near our room.

Sadly, I did not look at all of the awful reviews before we stayed here. This place if not at all worth it for the price. It was run down, dirty, falling apart. We had to change rooms due to dirty linens, which the staff did make easy to change once we brought it to their attention. We swam in pool and thought it was nice until we came back and all of our hair was green due to poor maintenance of the pool. When we told the staff they did not do anything about it and blamed our hair (which is not dyed) and we have a 6 year old whose hair turned bright green! It was not a good experience. It was to close to the highway, there were homeless people in the back parking lot. People partied till very early in the morning. The motel 6 done the street would of been a better choice.

Appeared tired and not confident that the hotel had effective systems to ensure upkeep of the furnishings.

Place can stay one night for road trip

The location is close to highway, you can stay for night during the road trip in No.1 road. There's a large shopping mall that just cross street.

Bay Park Hotel

Posted 22-Sep-2016
Pros: I cannot think about anything that I did like.
Cons: I am not sure if there is anything that could be done to improve on the noise of the traffic and small children.
Location: The location to the Del Monte Mall and the Monterey Jazz Festival was convenient. The Old Monterey Cafe and Denny's Resturant are convenient also.
I did not have a pleasureable experience. I was running late to check into the hotel and called the front desk and the phone just rang. I had to call Expedia for them to get through to the hotel. After a night of going to the Monterery Jazz Festival I return to my room and my key cards did not work. The person at the front desk said this happens when I am around electronics. He provided me with new key cards. The walls of the rooms are extremly thin after my first night a family of four (with to child ages of approximately seven and eight years old) move into the room next to mine. They were loud acting like children usually do and woke me up the next morning. I did not complain to them or the front desk. The traffic traveling up and down Munas St was also annoying.
