Centrally located hotel, short work from Duomo
Pleasant city centre hotel, a short walk from Piazza del Duomo in Milan, and very close to a Metro underground train stop. Room was comfortable, and quiet. Only major issue was with key card that operated door and lights - not unusual in itself - but it had a chip system, which they never bothered to tell us about on reception. It was dark when we arrived, and we ended up setting alarms off in an attempt to get the card to work with the lights. Frustrating when you are on a higher floor, and have to go all the way back down to reception for help. Staff on reception were a bit surly - but that seems to be the norm in Milan. Staff in restaurant & at breakfast were however very pleasant & efficient. Breakfast was very good, and we tried the restaurant for dinner one night and had an excellent meal, and not overpriced. Wasn't that impressed with the terrace bar though - it didn't help that the hotel had hired out most of it for a private party, when we visited it, leaving very little room for hotel guests. Only bothered with the once, and wouldn't again. The only other criticism - lift/elevator capacity is inadequate for the size of the hotel and the numbers of people trying to use it. Ended up having to use the stairs most of the time.
