"Nice studio apartment, conveniently located in a safe part of town. It’s very walkable and has several public transportation options near by. I recommend putting an AC unit since it does get warm at times. Had to sleep with my window wide open. Unfortunately my unit never got cleaned in the time I was there."

"Lovely accomodations in the Historic Central District adjoing the Historic Square and Cathedral. Round the clock light fares free for guests is very convenient. Excellent breakfast spreads as well. Note the short street where the ;property is located abuts the Square and closed off to most vehicular traffic and not Uber-friendly. Pickup points Uber suggests are just not practical. Hotel does call taxis on request and charges are reasonable Mex $300 flat. Drop off by Uber is fine however, right at the block corner"

Historico Central Hotel

10/10 Excellent
"I understand there are several hotels under this name in central historical district. We stayed at the Simón Bolívar No. 28 address. The hotel was just amazing. Yes, the room was small, but no different than we expect in any large city. The location really was in the historical district, and on a street featuring all the musical instrument stores. When we arrived, they handed us a glass of mezcal as a greeting. They went on to explain that at the little cafe counter at the front, we could get free beer and snacks (some substantial sandwiches), although mixed drinks were about U.S. $7.00. A great breakfast selection with espresso drinks outperforming Starbucks was also free. In other words, you could stay in Mexico for just the cost of the hotel. There are unlimited supplies of free water, and the hotel even offered a free three-hour tour of the old city that was deeply informative and delightful. All the staff were wonderful to us, and I highly recommend the hotel. I so hope we can return."
