"My husband is a Londoner; I'm a NYer who used to work across the street from The Dilly years ago, so this is home turf. Many pluses to this hotel: an ideal location; as a daily lap swimmer, the pool was terrific (if a bit chilly--fortunately, I never travel w/o my neoprene swim jacket); entire staff very responsive & helpful (especially grateful to manager Elena, and concierges George & Mandar); breakfast has good options, even for fussy eater like me. Areas for improvement: Housekeeping service was hit/miss: room not made up until quite late in the day (3 to 5PM)--there would be clean towels, but...loo paper not replenished, or empty tubes of hotel toiletries were left in shower & not replaced; or just the caps of toiletries left in shower; room carpet could use cleaning/replacing. Not much space to unpack/store clothes. All these could easily be remedied. The pluses definitely outweigh these things & we look forward to returning to The Dilly. "
