Riverside Cottage in Matlock with kitchen
Bluebell Cottage is over 200 years old and was built in the late 1700s in association with Masson Mills which is situated just opposite, on the other side of the road. The cottage enjoys cosy and attractive accommodation with 3 bedrooms, (a double, a twin, and a bunk bedroom), 2 bathrooms, a living room with log burning stove, and an appealing dining kitchen with pine table. The dining table seats 4 comfortably, and will seat up to 6 guests. The cottage is fully equipped for 6 guests. However it is also a lovely spacious retreat for just two guests! The bunk bedroom is best for kids, although the bunks are adult size. Free reliable BT WiFi. The cottage stairs could pose a problem for guests with mobility issues. There are 7 steps outside leading up to the cottage, plus a few steps up to the cottage garden. The top floor ceilings are low, so not ideal for tall guests! There is a cute and sunny cottage garden (not secure) with a small lawn and flowerbeds and outside table and chairs. The cottage is situated in a Conservation area within the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site. There are numerous country pubs, restaurants, and food outlets within walking distance. The cottage is ideally placed for using public transport, being off the main thoroughfare, yet within only 50 yards of a bus stop linking into services all over the Peak District. Trains run nearby from both Matlock Bath and Cromford, with links into the main rail network. Parking briefly to load/unload passengers and luggage is possible right alongside Bluebell Cottage. (The lane is awkward and narrow so parking there can only be for a short while) Parking is available at the nearby New Bath Hotel. We have arranged with the management for our guests to park in the hotel car park free of charge to include overnight parking, and access to vehicles is 24 hour. Otherwise free unrestricted public Parking is available in Cromford village a short, less than 10 minute, level walk from the cottage. Well-behaved Pets are welcome.
Guest accommodation at this cottage offers DVD players and coffee/tea makers. Kitchens offer fridges, hobs, microwaves and kitchenware and utensils.

Bathrooms include a combined bath/shower unit and hairdryers. This Matlock cottage provides complimentary wireless Internet access.

The recreational activities listed below are available either on-site or nearby; fees may apply.

4/5 Good

Nice little cottage
We found Bluebell cottage a lovely little stay, very comfortable & fantasticly equipped for all your needs. 10 minutes walk to Matlock baths. Lots of lovely little touches on arrival. Would definitely stay again & it would be a good idea to have Tea/Coffee making facilities in the attic bedroom. All in all a great stay Thanks very much x

5/5 Excellent

A homely quaint cottage
A lovely cottage with lots of character, very cosy & clean, well equipped. Not the ideal place if you have mobility problems. A lovely welcome package, coffee, tea, sugar, biscuits, milk & flowers. We had a lovely few days & hope to return when we visit Derbyshire again.

not very good
appreciate the age of the property but quirkiness must come with cleanliness

4/5 Good

Good base for local attractionsns
Lovely old cottage with lots of original features but all the modern facilities you could need for a comfortable stay. The owners were very helpful and resolved any slight hic up promptly, had some lovely meals in the surrounding area, was our first experience of renting a holiday cottage but wouldn't hesitate to do so again

5/5 Excellent

Had a fabulous break in the quirky cottage
A genuine cottage that’s definitely quirky, but retains the charm of a typical cottage. Not for those who want contemporary, but it’s cosy and a very different place to stay. Maybe not so suitable for the in-firmed, but my pretty fitish parents in their early 70s managed fine. Great communication from the owners and was on hand when we had an issue with the tv and was willing to come back, but we managed to get it working. Cromford is less than 10 minutes walk and has a lovely couple of pubs. We ate and had drinks in The Boat.Inn…would highly recommend and super dog friendly. Meals excellent and lovely quant pub with great beer garden. We really enjoyed our stay so thank you to the owners for a value for money break in beautiful Matlock Bath.
