Stayed for Louder than Life Festival and thank heaven we did. Such a great place to stay, close to the event and in such a great neighbourhood. Homey yet exciting, full of thought out conveniences and little extras, along with being secure, well looked after, and historic (we love that). This was a highlight and relief to stay at, especially when a hurricane hits the festival. We were able to keep comfy, dry, be well rested for the next day, and eat home cooked meals or go out to one of the many 4-5 star restaurants in the area. The owner was very kind, patient, and communicative. We're planning to come back again any time we're in louisville :)

Hidden Gem

My friends & I stayed at the Derby City Retreat for Bourbon & Beyond Music Festival & must say it was perfect! The apartment was spacious, clean & well stocked with extras in case you forgot something. We enjoyed the funky, fun decor and the overall comfort of the place. The neighborhood was a special surprise- easy parking, quiet streets, (even though it's on the corner).. and a few blocks away, restaurants & shops galore. Oh, yeah, a cool Italian restaurant across the street to boot! We also discovered a back route to the Ky Expo Center, Gate 6 - no interstate! Uber from Expo was very reasonable in off-peak hours. Our host, Alan, was terrific. He made sure we were comfortable & was soo easy to contact. Loved it!!
