Pros: great location, great character building, fab bar
Cons: breakfast
Quirky place to stay. Fab location and lovely rooms. Very friendly staff and great bar. Shame about the breakfast.

Theatre trip

Overnight treat to see the Ballet at the Coliseum. No menu in room, but food in restaurant was good and not pricey. Hotel overpriced as breakfast was awful: bitter coffee, curdled milk, stale croissants. Staff not particularly helpful on this count. Heating in bathroom was on at 1am but not 8.30am when we wanted to shower - seemed a bit odd.Room was comfortable, if a little drab in colour. Location was perfect, but I wouldn't stay here again - they just don't try hard enough.

Safety issues

Overall, its a quirky and central hotel. However, alarming that the terrace door does not lock and 'there is no key'.

location and room

Posted 08-Dec-2016
Perfect location right next to Trafalgar Square but couldn't hear a sound when inside. We were given a complementary drink when we arrived which was nice. Lovely room on top floor with terrace to sit on and even large furry rugs supplied which we used to sit out and stink our champagne! Very useful to have a kitchenette concealed behind cupboard doors! The only negative point was the continental breakfast which had rather a limited choice and the waitress was not efficient - we had to ask her for tea and coffee and the coffee was slopped down on the table with no offer to clear it up! This would not put us off and we would definitely love to stay at The Library again!

Next to the bright lights.

A little hotel with a few rooms only, interesting place and a little quirky, with friendly helpful staff. Ideally located for the Theatre district and next to Trafalgar Squre. Would I recommend it to family, friends and colleagues? Yes definitely. A lovely stay.

In the heart of London

I could not believe the location--as close to Trafalgar as you can get without actually pitching a tent under Nelson's column! Although the location is a hub of activity, our room was completely quiet. The restaurant downstairs is superb. The hotel itself is eclectic, unusual room configuration and décor, a lot of books. I only wish I had more time to enjoy it--we were only there for half a day and a night. Loved it and hope to stay there again!

Stylish hotel in a great location

Posted 19-Nov-2016
We were in London for a show at the New London Theatre which was just a 10 minute walk away. Covent Garden and Leicester Square are also within a 5-10 minute walk so this made a great base from which to explore. Staff were very friendly and we received vouchers for two free drinks when we checked in. We stayed in the Bronte suite which was tastefully decorated and well equipped, however we did have trouble getting the heating to work and there was no hot water because the thermostat in the shower was broken! We enjoyed our drinks in the bar and it was also a pleasant place to enjoy breakfast. Only a continental breakfast with limited choices was on offer and we would have appreciated something warm, not necessarily a full English but alternatives such as porridge or egg on toast would have been very welcome.

Quirky hotel at a reasonable rate

Posted 09-Nov-2016 on Hotels
This is a slightly quirky hotel, room was a little dated and the curtains need cleaning and re-attaching to the rail. Nice terraced area but didn't use as it was November and dark when I arrived. Friendly staff and made to feel very welcome. Not sure why I was asked to provide identification by way of a passport or driving licence (neither of which I had with me). Some nice touches with chocolates on the bed and a personalised letter welcoming me. Ideal location in the heart of theatre land and a reasonable rate.
