Lovely Hotel

Posted 14-Jan-2018
Pros: Pretty atmosphere, very nice staff, well kept, great location for our needs, the room was clean and decorated pleasantly.
Cons: No complaints.
Location: Just a couple of blocks to The Tower of London, and the Tower bridge. Tube station about a block away. Restaurants and pubs near by.
Walking distance to Tower of London. Lovely staff, very nice and helpful. The room was very nice. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Cannot say enough good things about this wonderfully-amazing boutique hotel, a real gem! Fantastic, helpful and friendly staff, great food, exceptional service! Clean, comfortable and quiet; truly a first class experience from start to finish. I am looking forward to my next visit ... asap!!

Comfy, cozy hotel in historic neighborhorhood

Posted 19-Sep-2017 on Hotels
I stayed in the hotel for business, for 8 nights. Despite there being people in rooms next to, across from and above me - I barely heard a peep. Since I am a light sleeper, this was a wonderful experience. The bed and pillows were wonderful; the room was nicely decorated and comfy; the Aveda toiletries were great; and there was a minimum of outside noise. The hotel is located in a wonderful, historic neighborhood, with lots of nearby restaurants and little grocery stores within walking distance. It is also located close to the tube and to the DLR. The breakfast options were good (I recommend the City Breakfast package). I would definitely stay here again. Only negatives: relatively limited TV-watching options, including no U.S. news channels or premium movie channels; the food for the room service is o.k. but nothing great; the staff in the restaurant is friendly but unevenly trained.

Mixed feelings

Posted 05-Sep-2017 on Hotels
I have stayed at this hotel dozens of times and this has been my one and only sib-standard experience. Loved the room (number 405) as it was spacious, clean and with an incredibly comfortable bed. The only problem was that the toilet did not flush. It's such an inconvenience (excuse the pun) and not the sort of issue you draw to the attention of the hotel management. In the end I used the innards of the waste bin as a bucket. It took about 8 buckets to clear the toilet bowl. And I had to do this more than a couple of times during my stay. Also, the wash basin was cracked - and it was a series of massive cracks which had been poorly repaired.
