Left with a bad back. Don't waste your money

Stayed at the Britannia Hotel for one night. Quite frankly one night too much.
On arrival was told there was no parking in the hotel car park. Asked where else I could park and was greeted with a shrug and told to go check the signs outside. I would think the staff would know where guests would be able to park.
The lounge area, reception and corridoors are reasonably pleasant however, once you enter your room things take a dive.
Upon entering I was greeted with a bleak sorry looking room. There were obvious signs of neglect. Broken fixtures, old mouldy tiles, furniture left unarranged. The room was devoid of character, TV was tiny and the windows were filthy.
I understand that at 2-3 stars I shouldn't be expecting a 5 star room but I expect it to be clean. Walking in to the bathroom and finding excrement from the previous visitor floating in the toilet is not something you'd want to see in any establishment.
I still have not come to the worst part of my experience; the bed. I am sure there are more comfortable beds in prison than the one I paid £95 to sleep on. The matress reminded me of my student days. Springs digging into your back and no matter what position you choose it was not comfortable at all. I did not sleep at all well, walls are not sound proofed properly so you can hear other guests.
Couldn't wait to get out in the morning and get back home to my bed at home as I didn't sleep and my back was left in agony.
Location good. Poor management.
