Dangerous staff! Verbally abusive and threatening!

Posted 24-Mar-2017
I booked a room at this hotel and made a bank transfer payment for the room and as requested I made a screenshot confirming payment and sent it via the email provided. Due to an error with the hotel's email server they did not receive the email and accused me of lying about the transfer as they had not received payment and I needed to show them proof. I logged into my online banking and showed the manager sensitive information about my banking and finances and he had confirmed that payment had been made. His colleague even advised him to let me into the room and wait until confirmation was received but he refused and stated that his hands were tied and became very disrespectful. I asked if I could get my luggage from the room which he also refused and treated me like a common criminal. Eventually he let me in the room to pack my stuff and proceeded to shout at me and he used the phone to call his colleague at reception. I asked him 3 times to speak in English and he ignored me and proceed speaking in his language. Very bad manager!!!! Incompetent and aggressive!!

Trip to London

Posted 20-Mar-2017
Pros: The location is great. The room was spacious , clean and comfortable
Location: The hotel is located on top of hil. is 10mins walk from chalk farm tube station and 15mins from Camden Market.
We were seeing a band in O2 Forum Kentish town and as we have stayed at the hotel before we decided to book for a nights stay so that we didn't have to rush back tot he mainline station after the 'do'. On arriving the receptionist was friendly and explained the facilities and times for check out. The room we had was on the first floor and was spacious for a twin bed. We both had a comfortable nights sleep. When we checked out the lady on reception was friendly too.

Clean hotel close to central London

Posted 11-Mar-2017
Pros: It's the cheapest, reasonable hotel I can find to central London. The staff are friendly and the food's good. I will be staying there again next week.
Cons: The whole place could do with updating a bit. Air conditioning in the basement rooms
Location: Very close to Camden, you've got a lot of amenities within a few minutes walk. 5 minutes walk to Chalk Farm tube station
5 minutes walk from Chalk Farm Tube station or 10 minutes drive from Kings Cross, this hotel is excellently situated for people working in central London. Loads of bars and cafes nearby in Camden, plus Camden Locks of course. Quantity of parking appears to be a but of an issue - the car park costs £2/hour from 9am to 6pm and £10 "overnight" from 6pm to 9am. That makes it £28 a day parking which is a bit high. The hotel is pretty much as described, a bit bit basic, but clean. I stayed in one of the "windowless" rooms which is in the basement. They are hot even with the radiators off and noisy if you're too close to the lifts, but do have a fan which makes the temperature comfortable. Paper peeling in places and a couple of chips in the furniture here and there, but on the whole OK. Bathrooms a good size with in-bath shower. I can't talk about the bedrooms higher up, but the other reports say they're better than the basement. Reception's a bit basic, but a good sized bar / lounge / restaurant. I had a small steak and chips for £7 which was very good.

Excellent location

Posted 10-Mar-2017
Pros: great location - easy walk to Camden Town centre and Market - Tube station nearby
Cons: we had room next to lift When we first heard the lift move we thought it was a train - either sort out the noise or don't use the rooms!
Location: we were to Camden to see a band in one of the many pubs and clubs nearby - we spent our day looking around the wonderful market
Hotel was fine - restaurant and bar were reasonably priced (in fact cheaper than surrounding restaurants/bars) Staff we met were all friendly and more than happy to help with anything.

Ok. Very noisy.

Posted 06-Mar-2017
Pros: super close to Camden markets and local pubs. Friendly staff, clean rooms. Cons: super hard beds. It's an older hotel so it's quirky, you can't keep bathroom door open after showering because the fire alarm goes off ( it went off really late one night during our stay ). Super thin walls, Bollywood music at 4 am, neighbors talking etc, and the constant noise of the lift going up and down, super loud, plus general city noise.
