I have stayed in the hotel before and liked it. Rooms 1 to 20 are in need of repair and have no windows.

Dangerous staff! Verbally abusive and threatening!

Posted 24-Mar-2017
I booked a room at this hotel and made a bank transfer payment for the room and as requested I made a screenshot confirming payment and sent it via the email provided. Due to an error with the hotel's email server they did not receive the email and accused me of lying about the transfer as they had not received payment and I needed to show them proof. I logged into my online banking and showed the manager sensitive information about my banking and finances and he had confirmed that payment had been made. His colleague even advised him to let me into the room and wait until confirmation was received but he refused and stated that his hands were tied and became very disrespectful. I asked if I could get my luggage from the room which he also refused and treated me like a common criminal. Eventually he let me in the room to pack my stuff and proceeded to shout at me and he used the phone to call his colleague at reception. I asked him 3 times to speak in English and he ignored me and proceed speaking in his language. Very bad manager!!!! Incompetent and aggressive!!

Great Area but in need of an upgrade

Posted 20-Mar-2017 on Hotels
This hotel is in a great location to visit Camden. It is a quick walk to Chalk Farm and Camden Market. The rooms themselves are very dated and could do with a freshen up. We booked breakfast on the Thursday night and were told it was a buffet breakfast. Friday morning there was no hot buffet but you could help yourself to cereal, fruit etc. I can honestly say this is the worst breakfast I have ever received in any hotel. The one sausage seemed to be deep fried, the bacon tasted strange, tinned mushrooms and tomatoes, beans which I hate but wasn't given a choice and two crispy fried eggs. Was a bit annoyed as we had paid an extra £10 each for this. When we checked out on Sunday it did seem there was a buffet option for the hot food so maybe it is only on certain days you can pick what you want. The hotel is dated and did smell in places but if you are looking for a room to put your head down and grab a shower then for the price in this area you can't complain. The staff were helpful. Towels replaced every day. Asked the cleaner for some spray for the room but he didnt have any. The room has everything you need ie hairdryer, iron etc. Would I stay again? I'm not sure. For the Price and location yes. Breakfast no. Rooms...I'm undecided. We were £280 for a 3 night stay. £300 Inc the breakfasts.

Trip to London

Posted 20-Mar-2017
Pros: The location is great. The room was spacious , clean and comfortable
Location: The hotel is located on top of hil. is 10mins walk from chalk farm tube station and 15mins from Camden Market.
We were seeing a band in O2 Forum Kentish town and as we have stayed at the hotel before we decided to book for a nights stay so that we didn't have to rush back tot he mainline station after the 'do'. On arriving the receptionist was friendly and explained the facilities and times for check out. The room we had was on the first floor and was spacious for a twin bed. We both had a comfortable nights sleep. When we checked out the lady on reception was friendly too.
