After filling in a pointless questionnaire, we were shown the first of two rooms, which was small, dark & dingy. We were then led through hallways with stuck doors and holes punched through the walls, up two flights of narrow stairs to the second room. This was marginally better. We said ok to hide our discomfort, but after putting ours bags down & sitting on the bed, we discovered brown & black stains all over the sheets. We decided to leave. The two staff members were ready to give our money back but had to check with someone on the phone as we'd booked online.
The man on the phone spoke to me and said we weren't getting our money back because we'd been on the premises 15 minutes & that was enough time to do whatever we wanted!
The inference he was making was not that I'd come with my partner to stay the night but had picked up a random stranger to have a quick bunk up & then leave.
After telling him how long it took to check in & be shown round (over 10 minutes) he was still adamant that we weren't getting our money back.
I then became angry with him for not only implying something so outrageous, baseless & demeaning towards us both but also because he refused to listen & see the truth of my argument & the points I'd made.
The man on the phone then ordered me to hand the phone back to his colleague, who then hung up & handed me my money back.
By this time, my partner had already left the premises in shame leaving me to apologize to her.
I would like this investigated.
