Our stay was very disappointing and I advise people to avoid this hotel. Our room was in the basement and did not have a window - when raised with reception, they said that the description on the website did not say there would be a window (we had paid £140). We were in a hurry to meet family and did not pursue it further. On getting home, when I looked at our confirmation email, there was clearly a window in the picture.
The staff on reception were very off hand and rude - on arrival we were told there is a compulsory £50 deposit to pay against damage. When we challenged it, we were told it was in the T&Cs when we booked. This is true - but it is tucked away in small print and there is no mention of it in any of the confirmation emails.
More importantly, it is now a week later and the £50 is yet to be refunded to my bank account. The hotel say they released it when we checked out - my bank say they didn’t.
It is a convenient location and the room was very clean, but staying at the Seel Street Hotel was a very unpleasant experience and we would never stay there again.
