This lovely 90m2 apartment is located on the ground floor of a typical old building in the heart of Lisbon's rich history and culture neighbourhood, Mouraria. Please keep in mind that although it is a cosy and comfortable place to stay, the property is noisy, and the building is not soundproof. The living room features a large sofa and a wide-screen smart TV for watching your favourite shows. To prepare delicious meals, the kitchen is fully equipped with essential cookware and cutlery, such as a stove, an oven, and a microwave. There is also a dining table for four where you can dine with loved ones. There are two bedrooms. One has a double bed, and the other has two single beds. All beds come with complimentary hotel-quality linens. The bathrooms contain all the necessary amenities, including clean towels and complimentary toiletries. The apartment is always professionally cleaned for your comfort. Enjoy your stay! Guests will have access to the entire home! We are GuestReady, a property manager, and we want to ensure your stay will be as smooth and comfortable as possible. We are available 24/7 should you need any assistance during your stay. Kindly note that this is a personal home so please take good care of it as if it was your own. While one of the trendiest, new-age places to see and be seen in Lisbon, Mouraria is one of the most authentically Portuguese hubs within the city centre, with a rich history and culturally dated streets. Despite the influx of beautiful culture, it manages to hold both of these roles thanks to remaining one of the least gentrified parts of Lisbon. The beautiful paradox is that Mouraria sits on the northern boundary of the Alfama in the heart of the Portuguese capital. More and more travellers to Lisbon are putting this on their list of places to see while in town; it is said that Mouraria gives tourists a peek into the old city of Lisbon and what it used to be years back. Mouraria is also the birthplace of Fado music. At the beginning of the 20th century, many penniless artists lived in Mouraria as it was affordable and central. One of these residents was a revered Portuguese prostitute named Maria Severa. She brought fado music into the city through a love affair with an aristocratic resident, and here it would remain even long after her death from tuberculosis at age 26\. Today, her old apartment in Mouraria is a fado venue and restaurant called Maria da Mouraria – Casa de Fados, which is open Wednesday through Saturday between 8 pm and midnight. The apartment is located about a 5-min walk to Martim Moniz metro station. This property is a self-check-in property, and you will be requested to verify your identity before checking in. Check-in can be done from 3 PM, pending availability and confirmation. Once a reservation is confirmed, guests are requested to complete a guest registration form following the legal obligations stipulated by local authorities in Portugal. There is a zero-tolerance policy for smoking on the property. If our team discovers evidence that this rule has been breached (e.g., smoke smell, ashes, butts, etc.), we fully reserve the right to charge a €200 smoking fee at minimum. Please note that for stays longer than 30 nights, a fair use policy of the utilities will apply with a limit of 80€. For the first days, we will provide basic amenities: samples of shower gel, shampoo, soap, toilet paper, kitchen roll, sponge, dishwashing products, and a bin bag. Extra keys: 20€ (extra pair of keys when available, lost keys or service to open the door during your stay). Extra cleaning with linen: the price of a cleaning fee. We couldn't sleep! There is noise until early in the day (people shouting in the street) and when you think it'll be ok, the rubbish are being removed with a lot of noise (bottles etc) with the city truck... Cleanless is approximative, especially the bathroom should be upgraded, as well as some curtains too. Need for a refresh! ##### Cathy C. It’s close to Alfama, close to Avenida, close to Rossio station, close to everything a visitor would like to be close to. The communication with the host was easy, they stayed online late to ensure we checked in safely and everything was fine. The apartment was clean and there was everything we needed inside. For a group of friends, this location was perfect as everyone had their room and their bathroom, and their privacy when needed. Inevitably, as a location at the stairs going up to a new vibrant neighborhood, it’s not very comfortable for anyone who wouldn’t like / be able to go up a few stairs and, also inevitably, there is some street noise. One thing that is worth mentioning which is out of control of the host: it’s quite a gathering at the corner of the street in late evenings; this location might be more suitable for a group of travelers or male travelers, and not so much for solo female travelers. ##### Karina D.
