  • Liked: Cleanliness, amenities, property conditions & facilities

I’ve lived In Blaby for 6 years as a child next door to the hotel and visiting family I decided to stay in this hotel for the first time. The hotel it’s self has everything you need all be it a bit dated, but all still functional. We spoke to a few members of staff the cleaning staff were very friendly and welcoming, reception on the other hand were just there to do a job, we were handed out door key told the number and that was it not where to go or any welcome once we had found out where the room was we were informed there was a security code for an exterior door written on a piece of paper we were handed. Finally the room it’s self there was dust on top of a wardrobe which was only 6ft tall so easily visible for some one taller, dust under bed sides draws and sofa and cobwebs all above the bed. For me it’s in a convenient location but I would avoid if possible.

  • Disliked: Amenities, property conditions & facilities

I had what they called the deluxe suit. The room looked nice at first glance! Then as I looked around, I noticed cracks in the wall. Windows that had steam between the glass and one could hardly see out. No soap, shampoo, non of that suff one usually finds in the bathroom. The phone in the room didn't work. It was reported and never got fixed. Getting on the internet was next to impossible, and I was put in the room with the best reception for it. So they told me when checking in. Breakfast, was real bad. Plus they charged me for it. The only thing they had which I could eat was a small apple and I was charged five pounds for that!!! I was booked in there for over two weeks, but checked out after three days. Plus the swimming pool wasn't working. The staff were nice and this is the good thing I can say.

Would not stay again

This hotel is not a 3.5 star in my opinion. The closest it gets is it doesn't look like it has been decorated since 1935. It is old, VERY tired, and as the listing details does not have Wifi. The walls are thin, the room was cold (as the heater was broken) and the bed was HORRENDOUS. I stay in hotels 1-3 times a week all over the country and i would put this in the bottom 5 i have ever stayed in.

    Basic Comes As Standard

It's a basic hotel. It was clean, tidy and functional. That said, it was dated, the pool is closed and it needs a decor that doesn't hark back to the 60s. It's a business hotel, not a luxury Retreat...
