Right downtown

Posted 24-Apr-2017
Swiss inn is a pretty nice hotel close to downtown. Staff are terrific. Wasn't able to get a face towel during my stay. That seemed odd to me. And with booking through Expedia I didn't qualify for breakfast. Not sure why. Overall a good experience.

Nice hotel next to main Chinatown shopping area. Easy walking distance to Chinatown attractions. Good restaurant and bar facilities.

A fire trap

Posted 07-Mar-2017
This hotel is, in my opinion, a potential fire trap. It can be accessed either from the restaurant on Jalan Petaling or Jalan Sultan. The reception is on the Jalan Sultan side but to access rooms you must ride an elevator to one floor then open a glass door with a room keycard. On 2 occasions my keycard would not open the door & had to be reset. I was then told that I had probably let my keycard come near a magnet! I dont think so! The whole layout is confusing & I was not the only guest to think this. There is no central stairwell allowing quick departure unless guests notice the fire escape stairwell hidden in a corner of the lift(elevator) lobby. There was only one elevator working during my stay & even it was confusing to operate as the display panel lights just kept flashing. All in all I would avoid this establishment even though it openly displays awards from some of the main travel companies.

Excellent position at Jalan Petaling

Posted 27-Feb-2017
Pros: Position in the heart of Chinatown
This hotel is showing it's age and could do with a makeover and the rooms are small but the room prices reflect this and the position is hard to beat between Jalan Sultan and the shopping and eating pedestrian street of Jalan Petaling.

A short tour of Petaling Street

Posted 28-Jan-2017
Pros: Central location within Petaling Street and the helpful and attentive staffs on duties.
Cons: Improve bathroom (not user friendly due to steps) Small breakfast spread at Lobby area too because access to cafe is difficult for wheel chair.
Location: This hotel is also close to convenience store, restaurants , hop on hop off bus stop and shopping districts
I used this hotel as a base for my elderly mum (wheel chair bound ) to visit Petaling Street and Central Market. These 2 places used to be her favorite hound when she was more energetic and could walk unassisted. The overall experience was good.

3 nights stay for City tour

Posted 26-Jan-2017 on Hotels
Great place near China Town. Restaurant inside hotel with reasonable price. Good location for City Tours. Split level caused a bit of hardship for moving 20+ Kg luggage when checkin & checkout.

It was an okay hotel, but I wouldn't peg it as 3 stars. Maybe 2 stars as everything was old, and the layout was confusing if you stay in the other part of the hotel. (I needed to go up 2 floors, then go down a floor again elsewhere to get to my room.)

this is our second stay here proving that we like it.the staff are friendly, helpful and polite.K.L. is a great city for shopaholics and local cheap transport. if on a longer stay it is worth purchasing a LRT card.
